They were $45 shorts marked down to $8 each. I don't think I would have the guts to bring them back. If they are too big next spring then I shall consider the money a donation to the fat gods, donate them to some charity and jump for joy.

Aaahhhh...summer's over, school's back in, and we're back to the daily hustle and bustle of school/sports/everything else. Last night was my turn to drive DD15 and several of her buds to field hockey practice and home again. On the way home we pulled up next to a police car at a stop light. Well, the 15 year olds in my SUV were oggling unashamedly at these two well built, way cuter than average cops next to us. I glanced over and they were looking at all of us chuckling. What a revelation for me....for the first time I laughed with the girls, and felt like a pretty hot mom with them rather than feeling like the fat mom hauling the hotties around. Hard to explain, but some lightswitch in my brain must've flipped!

I've been walking around with my hands in my pockets the past month or so trying to discreetly keep my jeans from falling down, so this morning I decided to bravely try on one of my old pairs of jeans that had been too small. Not only did they pull on without (much) trouble right out of the shower, they feel like they might be a tad too big already.

I had a really nice NSV this past weekend. I was away at friends and there was a bunch of us all eating dinner together Friday night. There were 18 of us in fact. The table was quite crowded and we were having a hard time squeezing everyone in. These scenarios were ALWAYS a nightmare for me in the past. I was always so sefl conscious of my size and it was always magnified during instances like this. Anyway we're trying to get the seating arrangements down pat and there was one spot with barely any room and someone said "We'll need someone real skinny to fit in this seat." And about 6 different people simutaneously point to me and say "Okay, I guess Robin's sitting there."

I think, no, I'm sure I've mentioned just how horrible I used to feel about "fitting" places and all kinds of "seating" in general. So, for this to happen, well I can not begin to tell you how incredible I felt. That comment and the ensuing feeling that it brought about is enough to keep me eating healthy for the rest of my life.

I have a couple:

-Friday night my DH & I went to the gym for our personal training session. Instead of an hour it ended up being an hour & 45 min. And it didn't kill me! lol!
-I may have finally broken my year long plateau - fingers crossed for official weigh-in tomorrow.
-I went dragonboating last night even though I really wanted to go home & to bed super early.

OMG !! I am finally getting all the loose clothes out of my closet, and found a pair of size 20 stretch jeans and decided to try them on.THEY FIT!!!!!! not snuggly but just perfectly!! I thought it would be at least another month until they fit, but they do. These pants still have the tags on. I am so shocked. I am definitly going to have to get new pants at least for fall/winter, all of mine, except for 2 are size 24. I am so happy, sorry for bragging.

My youngest daughter, 15 1/2, came home from sleep away camp on Monday. Last night she says to me, ma can I look through your closet and see all the clothes you bought since I was away. I said sure. She starts going through the clothing with such excitement. She's oohing and ahhing and along the way keeps asking me can I borrow this, can I borrow that. I said of course. She then says ma, it's so cool that I can do this now. I'm so happy for you. I can't believe we can share clothes now. And I said, I can't believe it either honey. I truly can't.

So, I was at the gym this morning for a class. I was the only one in the room, because it was still early, and I was standing at the front near the mirror when I realized something, not only are my calves way smaller and muscular, I don't have cankles any more!!!!!

Congrats, Robin! We moved our oldest daughter to college on Sunday and the younger daughter and I are both quite excited to raid her remaining clothes while she's gone. Kourt can wear about anything of her sister's, but only a few things fit me at this point. It's a huge motivator for me - all those clothes that I can wear without buying!

I bought a new top a couple of weeks ago and both girls managed to borrow it already. So fun!

You are all so inspiring. This is kind of a silly NSV, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

I have an Amazon Visa, so I earn points toward Amazon purchases with every dollar I charge (Heaven help me). I got a $25 gift certificate for Amazon from my Visa and instead of blowing it all on movies like I normally would, I used it to help pay for the new running shoes I desperately need. I'm sure my shins will thank me when they arrive : )
