Good Morning Gang!

Liz - guess we gonna have to have you move down to Louisiana. We are expecting record highs around 92 or so today, with a heat index over 100. It is October isn't it? somebody tell me because you sure can't tell in Louisiana. Feels like August.

Well I watched The Biggest Loser last night. It was good but definitely not what I expected. I thought it was gonna be a kind of weightloss journey type of thing about 12 people. I did not know that it is a reality type show where somebody gets voted off at the end of each show. I was like DANG let them stay and lose the weight! but it was worth watching I guess.

Liz - I'm sure your interview was MORE THAN alright! I'm sure you always do much better then you think you do! I would say that is a really good sign that they are already calling your references! keep us posted!

Leenie - girl tell that boss you need to come out and play!

what's everybody up to today?

I'm busy with paperwork of course, where does all this stuff come from, and where does it all go - oh wait - probably goes in the trashcan some day huh

ok I need to get to work - hope to be back later.

ya'll be good

hugs,
cathy

I went to the doctor this morning. Had to wait a bit while doc delivered a baby and got talking with the nurses. Realize that this is a smallish town clinic so many of us know each other by our first names. Anyway, they were talling me of big outbreaks of pertussis in the bigger cities! I got tested and don't have it---just bronchitis. But, they gave me a mask to wear when shopping in the city.

Interesting that the news media isn't talking about this. One nurse said that she thought it was so people would continue to shop and spend money. That the big companies are squelching the spread of information. So...wash your hands and stay away from coughing people.

Got an antibiotic and prednisone -HATE prednisone....makes me weird.

Hi Kids,

Tippy, back a few months ago, they had an article in the paper about Whooping Cough (aka pertussis) and how doctors are soooooo misdiagnosing it. Thats when I started coughing myself and my first doctor totally ignored my symptoms. Everyone here at this site is coughing / sick. Our company makes Dimetapp and Robitussin (other crap too) so our company store where we get this stuff at low costs is almost empty. Feel better.

Cathy, I'm here and bossless to bad your show was a bummer. I barely get to watch tv and when I do its kids stuff, disney channel which is okay. I used to be a TV NUT!! but when the reality shows kicked in. I was done. I just can't get into watching the misery of other folks LOL!!

Liz I'm sure you did good too. Your right, if they weren't interested in you they would not have wasted their time checking your references. Hope it works out for you. I remember last year you talking about light therapy. Did you get a light or are you going to? With the weather being so grim, maybe it would help. When I am home at night, ALL my lights are on and turned up full blast. I can't help it. DH tries to turn them down and I yell at him LOL. They just don't understand.

Well back to work for me

Wink Good day ladies!

Can't wait 'til tonite-my SOX are going to make history once again! The "curse of the Bambino" is OVER !!! Tonite is my Sparks night at church-should be a lot of fun!

Leenie: So THAT's where you work ! While the cat's away...

Cathy: That "Biggest Loser" was a disappointment. I think there's going to be a lot of backstabbing & humiliation going on I was glad to see that the young girl who was voted off is losing weight on her own and doing well.

Liz: Hope you hear good news about that job soon. I'm sure the panel was very impressed with you

Tippy: Sorry you're not feeling well-hope your bronchitis clears up soon . That's scary about whooping cough. That's a pretty serious illness!

Lynnie, CIN, April, Tiffanie, etc.: Where are you?

Leenie, you mentioned light therapy and I want to ask all of you out there if anyone is using light therapy. My psychiatrist wants to try that this winter but I'm short on funds. I really want to know if the special lights really work or not before I try to find the money. So is there anyone out there using it?

Marie,

Here's a link to an article I found on Light Therapy that I posted here at 3FC's. I know a couple of folks who have light boxes and they sware by it. My doctor also recommended it for me. I hope this helps you. If I had the extra cash I would get one for sure. But thats MHO Good luck!!

Marie !! One thing I forgot to mention. More and more insurances are picking up partial if not all of the cost for the light boxes so ask your insurance carrier.

Hugs

Leenie, thanks for the info. I've neven known anyone who has one, but since you know a couple of folks who like them, I will fid the dollars to do it. To be honest, I just have to pay for it up front and my medical reimbursement will pay me back. My insurance company doesn't cover it; I asked last spring. I chose which one I wanted and it was $500. Oodles of money for a relatively tight budgetted person. But I can't have a winter like I did last winter. I was never suicidal, but had thoughts that death wouldn't be so bad. It was weird and when I'm not in the depressed side of bipolar, life is great and death would be bad. So I don't want to go through that again. I will find the money. Thanks for the info.

Marie, there's one lady here who uses her light box quite often, her name is April99, maybe she'll come out of hiding and speak to you. She can give you more info on it than anyone I know. She posted on the Oct 21st thread. I would catch up to her if you can.

Hugs !!
