Good Morning, gang . . .

Temperatures are seasonal (although a little warmer would be nicer ) but the sun is shining and that's good. My BGL is behaving so far . . . a nice litte 4.7 (85) this morning.

GLEN . . . I'm here. Another good reading for you. Keep it up.

ROSEY . . . Congratulations on that win, girl. Minnesota is getting closer and closer all the time.

My day got off to what will probably prove to be an expensive start . . . Turned on the TV in the family room to check the weather . . . picture is fine but no sound . . . downstairs to the rec room, turned on the TV . . . sound is fine but no picture. I mean what are the odds? Anyway, downstairs is fine now - the cable connection had literally broken off in the little plug-thingee, so I had to dig around to get it out and then bypass the VCR to put the cable directly into the TV; so now I need to get another short cable to reconnect the VCR. No biggee.

However, I've done everything I can think of to the other one and nothing works, so guess I'll be calling a repair guy (do they even still exist). Looks like I've got a new TV in my future; this one is about 15 years old and has never given me any trouble before now . . . sort of promised myself I'd get a Flat Panel the next time I needed a replacement; so will start looking around. Anybody have one -- what is your preference -- Plasma or LCD -- which is better for a very bright room?

Well, guess I'd better get moving. Need to visit a couple more places around here before I can get out to start spending some money. Hope everybody has a great moving and shaking kind of day planned. Just keep doing the good stuff and the good stuff will follow in due course, gang. See you all soon . . .

Hey everyone! My bg is back up in the mornings again. I just can't explain why I get some lows and then some highs. I have been stressed lately though...so maybe that is it.

I am going to the mountains to work tomorrow since I have a substitute teaching job on Thursday and Friday. It is going to be a busy week.

I just got in from a 40 minute walk, so at least I got that done.

MEOWEE: Look into HDTV. I hear in a few years they will be standard and you will HAVE to have one as all the stations will be broadcasting for them instead of the old fashioned ones. I can't help you beyond that. I never watch TV. We have one - a flat screen- that we use mostly for movies on DVD. My son has one in his room...and my daughter and son in law have a small one hooked up to a game system, but that is all they use it for. I find it too easy to waste time on here!

CREATIONS: I am thinking of finding a craft show to try with my pottery, but I am kind of afraid of spending money then not making any sales. I need to wait until my husband has a job before I spend anything on non essentials..ya know?

NESIE: I agree...would half days be something you could try? I will be praying all goes well for you!

ROSEY: Nice! Makes me want to go out and play bingo! haha! $10 a table for a market sounds like a good deal. I wish there was something like that here.

HEFTY: I need to get back to lifting weights! Thanks for the idea! Way to go on your bg!

Well, I survived my first day, but I am completely exhausted. Half days weren't an option, but it would have been nice. I am going to rest tonight, though. Hope you guys all have a great week.

Good Morning, everybody . . . so good to see you all . . . wow.

Overcast so far today, although the weather forecasters say sun and warmer than yesterday. I'm going to be playing around with the new TV anyway, so I really don't care. So far I managed to get the old 27" so-called-portable off it's stand and into an-out-of-the-way corner pending the arrival of someone strong enough to actually move it. After I run around 3FC for a bit, I'll go and get the new one in from the garage . . . think I can actually handle it . . . which is one of the reasons I wanted a flat-panel in the first place. Got a 27" LCD which is HDTV ready at a pretty reasonable C$500 (WalMart; an unknown brand called Ilio), of course, it probably won't last as long as the old RCA clunker it is replacing (and which cost twice as much), but at the rate technology changes these days, longevity is no longer a really big issue. That's about the only thing on my agenda for the day . . . hope I can get everything hooked together properly.

Finished yesterday with a BGL of 4.1 (74 before dinner) and started today with a 5.6 (101) - a little higher than usual, but probably the result of finishing lower yesterday. Whatever, everything is acceptable on that front. Because I've been upping my protein (without lowering much else), my calories have been running a little high this week (averaging 1800 instead of the 1650 that I aim for). . . hopefully I'll get back to normal levels soon.

Anyway . . . I'd better get moving . . . got to take advantage of the little cleaning frenzy caused by the new TV before it wears off. Strange . . . although the new TV is going to go in the same spot as the old one, I'm on a rampage to clean, and tidy, and rearrange things in the family room.

Hope everybody has a great moving and shaking kind of day doing all sorts of fun stuff. See you later, gators . . .

Morning all!

Thanks for the warm and fuzzy welcome back MONET!

Got some snow last night... It was beautiful when I got up. Went to Tahoe for the day for work, by the time I left, it was getting downright chilly!

I had a new kitty adopt me last week while on a business trip. He is very very sweet, although I think he's getting kind of bored. He was tolerating Skye last night, until she turned around to sniff him, then he hissed and made her feel dejected. The cats haven't actually come in contact with each other yet, but I know it takes time!

I'm going back on an insulin pump on Monday. Now that I've got better insurance, it's actually paid for-my last insurance wanted $1,900.
I'm still looking for another job: I have a couple of interviews this week so I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Well time to get crackin'.

Cool

Hi, all. It rained yesterday. It is sunny, cool and windy today. i was late to work so i don't get a lunch hour. Grrr. My own fault. The weighin went as expected. Didn't lose any weight. I now have 3 weeks to lose at least 15 lbs. or I get kicked out of the program by the insurance company. Am ambivalent about it. Better make my decision soon.
I took the kidney test. Only got 11 right and i should know better. Eight years ago i had surgery on my right kidney. I had a congenitally blocked ureter which caused painful backup and eventually kidney stones. The surgeon took out the stones and opened up the ureter. It is working at 25% capacity. I take medicine to prevent stones as well as high blood pressure meds.
Meowee - good luck with that new tv. I have a 13 inch portable I bought in 1993. it works fine but I will have to replace it in two years because Congress has degreed that in 2009 the US will go all digital and analog tvs will no longer work.

Hi again . . .

Just wanted to let you know I am in love with my new TV . . . not only is it so much lighter to move than the old thing, it isn't phased by full sunlight in the famly room that is almost all windows on three sides. . . yes the sun did come out. Only one remaining problem . . . I can only get sound out of my DVD's. As soon as I plug in the video cable not only do I not get a picture, but the static almost drowns out the sound . . . . phooey . . . all my exercise stuff is on DVD and I've only got VCR downstairs . . . guess I'll go get a new video cable tomorrow and hope it works out.

Now, if you want really weird. . . the temp hit 12C (54F) again this afternoon, but tomorrow they say we are getting a couple of inches of snow . . . oh come on, give me a break. . .

JOSIAN . . . so glad to see you back. We definitely missed you.

ROSEY . . . glad you are enjoying that little book. BGLs just seem to go strange sometimes.

ROSETTA . . . Don't beat yourself up, chickie . . . maybe the controlled fast just isn't meant to be 'your way' this time. Just remember that whatever happens we are here for you.

Well, I'd better get going again . . . still in the throes of cleaning and rearranging . . . see you again soon. . .

Just checking in. BGL is not great these mornings - 7.0 - 7.6 (126 -136.8) so I need to cut the evening carbs. I switched my glyburide to A.M. as I was getting very low morning readings and it's obviously not a good idea if I eat carbs at supper! Constant diddling with my personal dial!

Good Morning, gang . . .

Woke up at 3:00 am with a BGL of 3.0 (54), even after having had a cereal snack at bedtime . . . so I ate an orange and went back to bed . . . got up again at 8:00 am with a 5.6 (101) . . . now, one small orange doesn't do that much for that long, so I probably had gone low again . . . seems to happen far to much, I guess I'll have to start playing around with my med schedule a bit to see if I can balance out better overnight. I don't know (better ask the doctor next time I see him) but I wonder if it is hard on the liver when it has to constantly keep pumpin extra glucose into you every night?????

Well, it's another beautiful spring day here in Atlantic Canada . . . cold, windy, rainy . . . hope the predicted snow doesn't materialize. On an eqaully fun note . . . I managed to drop another magnificent .4 of a pound in only 2 weeks. I know, I know . . . stop complaining . . . at least it's going in the proper downward direction. Just sometimes, it does tend to get soooooo depressing. Sigh!

Anyway, gang . . .hope everybody has a great moving and shaking kind of day planned. Just keep on, keeping on and I'll see you all later . . .
