  • Hey Lovely Ladies!

Here we are in April with a new thread! I've been wondering where everone is, as only Karen and I have posted in the last week. Where are you guys? Please post and let us know how you're doing...whether the news is good or bad, we want to hear it.

One of my new foods is Fiber One Oats and Caramel Bars. They taste so good! I have been eating Fiber One Cereal for awhile now, putting it in my yogurt for a yummy evening snack. But now I love the bars too! They are so good, they don't taste like diet food.

The bad news is...my husband broke a bone in his ankle, again. He broke it 5 months ago and we thought he was all healed, and then he broke it again yesterday. It is so discouraging and I haven't really been able to accept it yet. We have been having so much fun lately going for long walks together, and last weekend we went dancing. Now we can't even go for a walk for at least a month or two. Sorry to unload, but I just can't believe that we have to do this AGAIN.

My eating has been going well, and my exercise has been great. I just finished week 4 of the Couch to 5K program. The scale has been dropping pounds lately, and I almost don't believe what it has been telling me lately.

Well, that's all I can think of for now. Hope to hear from you all soon!
    Beth
  • Hello All!
Beth, so sorry to hear about your husbands broken ankle. That is so bad when you were both enjoying the walks so much. Just try to keep your chin up and not try to rush the healing and before you know it you will be out walking together again!

I also love the Fiber One cereal and like to put it on my salads for the extra crunch! It isreally good! And the bars are really good too. They taste so "sinful"!!

I've really been trying to eat much better this week but then got sick on Tuesday. Woke up at 4:00 am and was sick to my stomach all day. Then yesterday my ribs were so sore from being sick so much that I didn't get much done in the way of exercise for those days. But feeling almost "normal" today so hopefully I am done with that!

I need to go and chase the vacuum cleaner -- we have people coming in the morning. Our contract with our realtor is up on the 12th and we are checking in to one of those flat fee real estates to see what they are all about. We really just need a buyer before the 12th!!!

    Have a great day!
  • Karen~
    Thanks for the encouragement.
I'm sorry to hear you've been sick. That's no fun at all. I'm glad you're feeling better today. Don't worry about the missed exercise. Vacuuming....there's some good exercise!
Moving is so stressful, isn't it! We're going to be moving in about 2 1/2 months and I'm already stressing about finding a new apartment and new job. There's not too much I can do yet but wait. I hope you find a buyer soon!

  • Hi There..
I am new to the board and also new to Slim Fast. Today is 2 weeks that I have been on it and I am down 6 lbs. I am doing 2 shakes a day and eating supper in the evening. I try to have 2 snacks throughout the day and I exercise at least 5 days a week. I do 35 minutes of cross country on the treadmill and some weight exercises. I will be staring a circuit training class next week that I will be taking once a week.
Nice to "meet" you fellow Slim Fasters!
  • Good morning!

Skinny Magee ~ Welcome to our thread! I'm so glad to hear that you have had such great success your first 2 weeks! This thread has been pretty quiet the last week, but is usually a little more lively and a great place for encouragement. I hope you stick around.

Today is my weigh in day, and I lost 2 pounds this week! Yippee!
  • Good Morning! Welcome Skinny Magee!! Like Beth was saying this thread is usually pretty active but for some reason the past week has been kind of quiet! Maybe the change from Winter to Spring! But I'm sure it will pick up again soon.

Beth, I weigh in again tomorrow too. I'm afraid that I probably haven't lost but I'm getting better on a routine now and that should help a lot. Just need to keep it up and I know the scales will start moving in the right direction!

Well, we have some people coming to see the house this morning so I need to get a few more things done--- Just wanted to pop in and say Good Morning!
  • Good morning.
Karen, I do hope that your house sells in the next few days. It is so stressful trying to sell a house. I find I get a good sweat when vacuuming. Will you be moving out of the area? I have never been to Colorado but have heard it is beautiful.
Beth, congrats on your weight loss. Sorry to hear about dh's ankle, is there anyone in your neighbourhood you could walk with? I too really enjoy the fibre one bars. I live close to the border so I would buy them at the superwalmart, but now we can get fibre one bars here.
Skinny Magee, 6 pounds down, that is awesome. Congrats. What part of Ontario are you from?

Hello to everyone else, I do hope you are all doing well.
I find I am eating on plan but I am not losing, I may need to up my calories a bit. I guess it is a learning process.
    Have a great day everyone.

  • Good morning everyone,
Have a wonderful Monday. I find the weekdays much easier than the weekend.
Have any of you tried the snack bars. I found the blueberry ones dry, but with coffee they seem okay.

  • Good Morning Everyone!! I am down 9 lbs!!! YAY!!
I started on March 21st and have been "pretty" good at following the plan. Last weekend I was "bad" and had some beers with friends. (I love beer..hee hee). This weekend I had one beer with my MIL and Grandmother-in-law. I couldn't resist. It was hot and sunny and the beer was icy and cold

AnnCan1111 : I am in the Ottawa Valley. A small little town on the outskirts of Ottawa. Where are you?

    Happy Monday Everyone!
  • I haven't tried any of the snack bars yet. I will have to admit that one of my favorite snacks is plain unsalted rice cakes with light cream cheese. They are really good! I also like fat free vanilla yogurt mixed with some raisin bran cereal.
  • Wow Skinny, those snacks sound delicious. I think I need to get some and try them.
I am in Eastern Ontario, close to the US border.
It was so beautiful outside yesterday. I think it will motivate me to get out running.
I bought some slimfast in New York yesterday and got 15 cans for 9.92 at walmart. I thought that was a good deal.
    Have a great day.

Where is everyone, I do hope you are all doing well.
  • Okay Ladies - sorry I have been long gone - but I have been leading a busy busy life...but I have been checking in on y'all almost every day...just lurking though. I do miss it here!

Okay - my weight is currently staying the same as I have been having a lot of fun with friends and partying more than I was when I worked to lose the first 60lbs. I'm getting soooo much male attention, that it's hard to stay on track when a night of drinking (beer...I love it too Skinny!) is always calling my name...the good news is that I am maintaining while having a blast - something I haven't done in forever - the having fun part....I have spent the last few years not having fun due to my fatty-ness....but I really am happy about the maintaining part.

I do fully intend to get back on track in the next few weeks to drop these last 12lbs...I just think I have taken a well-deserved vacation...not to say I'm not eating well....I'm generally on plan...but with too many dates and nights out...it kinda counter-acts all the good eating I'm doing (and exercise)....

Still working out 5 nights a week. Got 6.5 miles in tonight - ran my little heart out and it felt sooooo good. I love that I can run (2 miles now before having to take a walking break) now and am soooo happy to be able to do it - I never was good at it before....even when I was thin...but I have been working very hard at it as I do want to be able to run in a 5k and actually run it and not be the last person walking....I just want that really bad....overall health.

Well...that's it for now....once again, welcome to everyone new and I'm sorry I took a little hiatus - I promise to check in more often!

  • Good morning,
    Where is everyone?
I bet the nice weather is keeping everyone off the computer.
I do hope all is well.
Have a great day and check in everyone. I miss your posts.
  • Hello? Anybody home?
I had to dig this thread out of page 2! What happened to us, friends? Are we going to let this thread die?

Things are going well for me. I can't wait until the next Biggest Loser challenge starts here on 3FC in 2 weeks. I'm in!
My eating has been going pretty well. Nothing new to report.
Exercising is great. I just finished week 5 of the Couch to 5K program. Tonight I ran 20 minutes straight! I am becomming a runner!
I got smaller size of jeans a few weeks ago, and they're already starting to get too big! Yippee! Maybe I can get an even smaller size soon!
I lost 1 pound this last week. 2 more, and I'll be at the 30 pound mark! I can't wait! I'm hoping to be at the 30 pound mark when the Biggest Loser challenge starts. Then my goal is to lose another 20 pounds during the 15 weeks.

OK, well, that's a quick update on me. Please help me keep this thread going. We had something really great going!
    Love you guys,
    Beth
  • Hello everyone.

Beth congratulations you are doing awesome.
I have been eating well and I am down one pound this week.
I love to run. I couldn't believe I would ever be able to run more than a block.
Now I run 5k and enjoy it which is funny because I would drive everywhere never walked.
I think I need to add other exercise into my day but I am unsure what I should be doing. I will have to think about that one.

    How is everyone doing?
    Have a great weekend.
    Ann
