Spelt products

Hi!

I am slowly entering Phase 2 of this plan and have not seen many references to spelt products. I know it is in the list of approved grains for breads, but how about spelt tortillas, pastas, pretzels and crackers? Are they ok too? I assume as long as the products are 100% spelt they are acceptable?

Thanks!
Steph

You are a step ahead of me. I don't know what spelt products look like or where to find them.

I wouldn't hesitate to include those products :)

I would think spelt products would be fine as long as they didn't contain bad fats or as long as they are not too high in sugar.

Thank you for your replies! I have had some spelt crackers (Dr. Kracker I think is the name) from our local natural foods store and and happy they should be ok for this plan. For more info about spelt google berlin natural bakery or vitaspelt. (I don't think I am allowed to do links). Berlin bakery has some GREAT stuff! My aunt orders from there all the time.

MMM, our grocery back home had a wonderful spelt bread. My mom is technically allergic to wheat (she can eat it, just aggrevates her allergies) and for awhile she only ate the spelt bread. It's a delicious grain!
