Are English peas and turnips allowed in ph2? They are not on either the good list or the avoid list. Are pretty much any vegs except white potatoes, beets, and corn on the allowed list?

English peas? Do you mean peas that come in a pod and are shelled or is it something else? Green peas are allowed but count as a starch.
Turnips are two types - the small white ones with purple shoulders are listed as good in the guide. However, the big goldish ones (rutabagas or Swedes) are listed as very limited.

Just googled English Peas and came up with Sugar Snap peas, edible podded peas. They are OK as are snow peas.

Is there a difference between sugar snap peas and snow peas? I know snow peas are the flat ones found in salads and asian cooking.

Are the sugar snap peas the ones that a little rounder and more pea-like in the shell? You still eat the entire pod, right?

How silly that I don't really know the difference.

That's it exactly, Sarah. You eat the entire thing. I have used them in Asian cooking when I could not get snow peas but I don't like them as much.

Thanks - that answers my question. I don't really use Swedes, except in pasties (which I don't make often), but I love to eat raw turnip slices! English peas are the shelling type pea, so I don't know why it brought up edible-pod peas, unless it mentioned them on the same page? Snap peas have a thick, juicy pod while snow peas are flat. Snap peas are like a pea version of snap beans, while snow peas are the ones you usually get in your Chinese food.
