Triscuits??

If this question has been answered already I'm sorry for asking again!!! But I looked everywhere on here for the answer. Are Triscuits legal on Phase 2??? I'm running out of snacks!!! I don't like nuts that much and I'm eating cheese all the time!!!

Please help! :?:

Ummm...I am not sure but don't Triscuits have hydrogenated oil in them? I don't think we can have them but I could be wrong......I hope I'm wrong- I like Triscuits too! :)

I think the new Triscuits do not have the hydrogenated oils in them. There was a link to an article in the main SBD forum about it. Maybe someone can search for it...I'm not quite sure how this works...

Anyways, I personally have a beef with the GFGCG saying that only Stoned Wheat crackers are OP. I think that the Wasa crispbreads should be OP, too. They have no fat at all, and are made of entirely OP ingredients. So there! :snooty:

I think we get to make our own cracker category of OP things.

Snacking on crackers is not very good anyway. You would do better to have veggies or a piece of fruit or a cup of yogurt.

Had the same question when I started phase II. Unfortunately, Triscuits have too much fat and are a no-no (according to the folks on the 'official' site). Here are some crackers I introduced in phase II (and, yes, with l/f cheese or meat and/or veggies is best rather than snacking on them alone).

I found most of these at Trader Joe's, but I've noticed that my local supermarket started carrying some of these as well:
TLC (Tasty Little Crackers - 7 grain variety).
Ry Krisp - fat free sesame & others that are f/f
Ak-Mak
Finn Crisps
Woven Wheats (Trader Joe's version of Triscuits, without the fat).

It's amazing how many healthy-seeming crackers have just a ton of sat and hydro fat in them - I read labels carefully now!

Hope this helps-

Fancy Fiber Crackers

In the "fancy cracker" section of my grocery I get "Kavli" brand whole grain crispbreads. I eat them with the Laughing Cow lite cheese.

3g fiber for one little 40 calorie, fat and sodium free crispbread. I usually break it in half because they're pretty big. That's 20 calories of whole grain fiber that I personally don't even count as a starch as long as I only eat 1/2.

I eat a few Triscuits usually daily and I have still lost weight every week since Jan 12th. I put a few (5 or 6) on a plate with turkey pepperoni, salsa and low fat cheese on top and microwave till the cheese melts. Great snack.
