Green Peas
Are they a no no? Can't seem to find them on the list.

Hmmmm... they're pretty high on the glycemic index. I'd save them for Phase II.

Snow peas and sugar snap peas are OK because eating the pod lowers the GI. Otherwise they are "limited" even in Phase II according to The Good Fats, Good Carbs Guide.

If you are talking about regular old green garden peas (like in peas and carrots), you are correct; they are pretty much a no-no. Might be OK very rarely, though. I like the sugar snaps a lot better now, esp in a stir fry.

Try edamame!
If you love peas, you will love edamame! They are the green beans that pop out of the soybean pod. They look a lot like green peas and have a similar texture and taste. At least to me. I found them already cooked in the pods at Costco, and the frozen shelled ones at Trader Joe's.
