Need Some Help Again

Hello there all you Beach Babes,

How's it going? I am in a quandary because I am not losing as fast as I thought I would :( I will not get discouraged by this but am determined to keep on truckin' :) I just want some input into how I am blowing it.

I started out weighing 152 after week one I weighed 148, at week two weigh in I weighed 146, I weighed myself yesterday and I weigh 148 again, this is after 18 days on Phase 1. I thought I would lose about 8 pounds, I guess it will be slow and steady but I want it to at least be slow....

I haven't had any sugar and have been following this pretty religiously, the no sugar is huge for me, I have to be proud of myself here, I'm a Blizzard and McFlurry addict so anyway maybe it is my salad dressing that is getting me, that is all I can think of.

I use Caesar and Ranch and all others that don't have a high sugar content, I haven't been measuring 2 Tablespoons, maybe I'm getting carried away. Maybe I should only use Vinagrettes and olive oil and balsamic vinegar? I also had some roast the other night and maybe that was too fatty? I think we do have to be careful about fat contents and I didn't know if this roast was high in fat or not.

Another thing I'm doing is eating lots of protein at dinner. Should I be limiting it a bit? He says to eat until we are full and not worry about portion size, right? Am I taking this too far?

Suggestions would be most helpful,

Thanks soooo much
Tracy

Tracy, are you drinking LOTS of water? It's really important that you not get dehydrated, and that you keep flushing out your body. Also, if you're dehydrated (and you may not even KNOW you are), you may be eating more. Often when we're not getting enough liquids, we think our bodies are telling us that we're hungry.
Don't get discouraged! You're doing well! :hat:

Read your labels carefully--there are "hidden carbs" in so many things. Lots of water, as ellis said.

Couldn't help but notice that you never mentioned the word "exercise."

Also, is anything else happening to your body? I ask this because I have often heard--and seen in myself, during previous weight-loss attempts--that certain things happen at certain times. As you lose weight, you will see the numbers on the scale drop... and you will "lose inches" in your midsection, thighs, arms, wherever. You will lose weight, and you will lose inches... but these things never seem to happen simultaneously. If one is not happening right now... maybe the other is?

Good point, Big Wheelz! Wanna be a moderator?

Actually, I already have a moderator job on another message board, with an area newspaper. ;)

Toothfairee, there is a wonderful thread on the SBD board about why we don't lose when we think we should. It explains how we originally lose a lot of water when we start a diet and this seems to "freak" out our bodies. It suddenly holds onto water, masking the weight loss. The solution seems to be patience and drink plenty of water. Take my advice and look for this information on this board. It made me feel much better about not losing this past week even though I have been so loyal to the diet. (I'm just finishing week 4)

Thanks everyone

Hey

Thanks so much, I guess it doesn't look to everyone like I am doing anything wrong with the food. I will try to drink a ton of water :)

Thanks for the encouragement. Talk to ya soon.
Tracy
