the appointment is at 8 brian can't bear to go. My girlfriend Michele is taking me. I have not decided if I will stay with him while they do it or not. I probably will.

Oh Nessie I'm so very sorry. My recommendation is if they give him a shot that sedates him to leave after that is administered. There is no need for you to be present when they administer the second shot, he will already be unconscious and it's better to have your last memory of him sleeping peacefully and his last memory will be that you were there when he drifted off to sleep.
