Tell them you're not entirely sure about your LMP & get 'em to do an ultrasound.

Are you getting an U/S? You said they were going to measure you so that's why I am asking. It's to early for them to do it without one. If so you should see a HB now that you are 7wks+. I saw mine at 6 weeks exactly and then with the doppler at 9 weeks which is pretty early still. I got lucky. If you're not then I would take Sabra's advice to try and get one.
That is just horrible what that lady said to your DH. I can't imagine saying such a thing.

LOL, sounds like something I'd do.

I'd be looking forward to the u/s, even that early in the morning. Funny that they want you to drink the water though. At 8 weeks or so it will probably be a transvaginal one, and you don't need to be well-watered for those. I know when I had the dating u/s in my first pregnancy I drank water expecting a normal one, and they said "Oh, it's transvaginal, you didn't need to drink."

I always get a tummy ultrasound before a vaginal ultrasound. The look at other things, so that is why they want a full bladder. They check your ovaries and the oversize of your uterus ect. Then they make you empty your bladder and do the vaginal scan. A literal pain to have to drink all that water. I hate drinking that much! So uncomfortable!

Yah, I hate teaching hospitals. The Navy hospital in Portsmouth, VA was a teaching hospital during my first pregnancy (for civilians, oddly enough), so for my first appointment they asked if they could have a resident do my pelvice. I was like, "OK, no problem," and it was all fine and dandy until the 'teacher' decided to repeat the exam.

My big ultrasound is scheduled for 4 weeks, Feb 1st! Woohoo! I had my 16 week checkup today. I am still -1 from pre preg weight. But at my size, he isn't worried at all, my tummy is definately getting BIGGER. Heartrate was 155.

Hi guys. Has anyone lost their pregnancy trackers? I know they say no outside links but some have been removed and some not. Really confusing I guess.

Flower- yes you have me beat. If I were 36, my oldes would be 17 years old but I'm only 32 and he's going on 13. Does people say you're crazy for having a baby after having your children nearly grown?? I haven't actually been told that but I"m sure people are thinking. My own Dr. told me I was starting over. I told him, not really cause this is the last one.

Sabra I hope you do stick around cause I am going to try breast feeding for the first time ever with this baby and would love your hints and tips on it. I am really wanting to pump and feed with a bottle and supplementing if necessary. I may be asking for too much but since this is my last baby, I wanted to give it a try.

Heather I hope your little one stays in until you're ready to see it. I had my twins at 25 weeks so you're definately in the positive being in the 30 week range already. I will feel some relief once I make it to 25 weeks this time around.

My u/s is on tuesday to hopefully amongst other things, reveal the gender. I have never known what my kids were going to be until they were born so I"m excited to maybe know this time.

Yes, everyone thinks I am insane that I will be getting my oldest his drivers licence about the same time I deliver! Owell, nothing in life is set in stone. My sister has 4 sons all within 5 years, That to me is insane! And she wants 2 more. This is my last. Took too long to make this baby.

I've been pretty good at getting pregnant when my prior kid is around one year old. Bobbie was 13 months when I got pregnant with Linda, and Linda had been one about a week when I got pregnant with Esther. It was kind of an oops in both cases. Since it took me 18 months to get pregnant with Bobbie, I really wasn't expecting to get pregnant the second time after a month of trying! With Esther...well, we were gonna start trying this past July, but I forgot one little thing about NFP--that you can ovulate the day after your fertile cervical fluid dries up.

Dana, I reckon I'll be around here til I quit nursing, and if past performance is any indication, that's going to be a few years yet. ;) I think it would be nice to have one year where I'm not pregnant. I've been pregnant at least part of every year since 2001, though I did have most of '04 free.
