I leave hubby & the kids sleeping in the morning, baby girl wakes up ~4/5am-ish, I nurse her back to sleep, pump, leave the monitor with hubby (he sleeps in the guest room, baby in cosleeper next to me),then hit the gym, come home & shower by the time everyone wakes up ~7:30am (my son is our alarm clock). Both of my kids have been good sleepers, so far Payton is like big brother, sleeping a solid chunk at night in her cosleeper ~5-6-hours followed by a ~3-hour nap after(which is when I fit in the workout & shower).

As for food, i take ~1-2 hours on Sunday to do mass salad prep/veggie chop either when she is napping, hubby holds her (although she cries when it's not ME holding her, so that doesn't last long), or I baby wear, I have ~3-4 healthy sides ready to eat during the week. Lunch & breakfast I whip up during her short naps in the bouncer and for dinner, I put a video on for my 3yo son & baby wear my daughter while I prep, pull ingredients, pans, etc...everything needed for meals. When hubby gets home I put things on the stove/oven while he plays with the kids for ~15 minutes. Hubs does the dishes.

My gym does have daycare starting @ 6mo, but I didn't start bringing my son until he was 2yo...and he LOVES it, they have a nicer play area than places i pay for (2-story climbing tube w/trampoline, etc)! Will probably do the same with this one. During the week I workout early, hubby goes late and during the weekend we do split shifts staying home with the baby & he takes my son with him.

Ah ok. Baby wearing does help.

My little guy was actually up from about 3am to about 5:30a this morning, then went back for about 1/2 hour then was up at 6a. That isn't typical though, usually sleeps through the early morning hours, but only if he's in bed with me.

I don't have the morning support from hubby. He usually works late, til like midnight so he sleeps in in the morning. So I cannot count on him to get the baby. There have been a few times I have snuck out of bed and baby was still sleeping, but as soon as he wakes up (which has been within 15 mins of me escaping) DH calls me to come get the baby. Even nights DH doesn't work he wont get up in the morning. With my middle son, when he got to the point that he would sleep through the night in the crib, then when he woke up he hung out peacefully, I would go out for a run. DH was home, but didnt have to get out of bed to get the baby. Baby would lie and wait for me to get in. My first son was a screamer. As soon as he woke he screamed, so I never got my morning routine back when he was a baby.

So days he's off, I end up getting up early to get my oldest off to school. DH is usually willing to take the baby by like 10 am...which is early but I'm so much happier when working out is the first thing I do. Because by 10a, I'm finding excuses, cleaning, etc. Mostly cleaning. I do most of the cleaning too. That's what I'm off to do now. Dinners are mostly slow cooker, for fast clean up at night. Lunches sandwiches, and breakfast eggs in various forms.

I know once I get my mornings back, I will be much more motivated to lose weight. Until then its like pulling teeth to stay at it.

Omg...I TOTALLY hear you about the mornings!!! Basically the stars have aligned to let me get out early. I have been saying for over a week I would get out in the afternoon or evening for a walk or weights...but it just does not happen after the day starts rolling. Once she "proved" her sleep patterns I felt comfortable leaving a bottle of pumped milk with Hubs. He is usually up around then anyways to shower &watch "his" shows before the rush starts.

Btw..I saw you have 3 littles. I had a dentist appt yesterday, his 3rd is 8mo now - he said going from 1 to 2 wasn't too bad, but going from 2 to 3 is waaaay harder now that they don't have "man to man" coverage!

Yep afternoon or evening...honestly, all the kids go down around 8pm. I could absolutely get in a regular workout at night and a shower...but the thought of workingout at night..::shutter:: I am a morning person through and through. There's just sometrhing about going right from my bed to getting in a good workout that makes the day wonderful! lol It controls my appetite all day and I feel energized! I did tell hubby I want to work out early tomorrow, but early for him will be around 8:30a after my oldest gets on the bus.

Yes I will say going from 2 to 3 kids, its like I went into survival mode! I'm hoping this is just because the little one is still very little. I did feel like I had more time with 2 and of course 1. Now it always seems like someone needs something...lol. Right now my oldest is at school, my middle is playing play dough, baby is sleeping. I could get on the treadmill. Baby could nap for 20 minutes or 2 hours, it still unpredictable...but by this point in the afternoon I just feel exhausted. Even worse, then I'm looking for sugar and caffiene for a pick me up. Its a vicious cycle without my early morning workouts.

I really have to stop pigoen-holing my workouts to mornings. ...And get my snacking under control..

Ugh...just when she lulls me into a sense of sleep security...she pulls the rug out from under me! Woke up @ 1:30am, up for over an hour, then up at 4am for over another hour, finally moved to nurse on the couch (where I feel more comfortable nursing side-lying, my bed is to cushy), we both conked out until my son woke us up @ 7:30am. I am guessing a growth spurt...these babies were made so cute for a reason!

I had planned to start up my weightlifting class this morning, but that would have been Cu-RAZY with no sleep! Maybe Friday. Just going to stick with my food plan. I haven't really been watching portions or calorie counting but am focusing on lean meats and veggies, giving it a month and reassess then. Food is 80-90% of the weight loss equation anyways.

Woo hoo! Moms Night Out tonight! My first since little girl...heading out to meet up with 4 other moms from my sons therapy, last time was a blast...good to get together & talk about something other than Autism! I may even have a glass of wine, hubby has 8oz of pumped milk which should get me through a drink & dinner. Planning on getting some miles in tomorrow morning, shouldnt get TOO crazy tonight.

We had a looong nap on the couch today, long overdue as i dont usually nap during the day and have been running a little ragged lately. Feel energized, just hope it doesnt mess up my sleep for tonight!

Ugh...home today with a puking 3yo and a stuffy 7-week old...hubby was kind enough to bring home a bug then get sick over the weekend and leave me with 2 sick Kiddos today! Thankfully I am fighting off a sore throat...today was an exercise in survival!

I did my Bodypump class for the first time in 8-weeks and can tell I am going to be SOOOOORE! And I went really easy too, my last class was 3 days before I went into labor. My plan is to meet up with my running group tomorrow morning, if "she" allows it! Trying to start this as a continuing routine now that I seem to have found a steady time slot.

Today was a blah kind of day, didnt have the best eating plan and didnt get my morning run in...i do think the two are correlated...and to top it off i had 2 fun size snickers before bed! Thatll teach me to buy Halloween candy 2 days before! Off to post my meals...no planning beforehand makes it a messy kind of day for me.

LizRR 10-30-2013 01:16 AM

Make that THREE SNICKERS!!!

Thank you Liz and Ella! I know I am super late on my response, things get so busy and it feels like I hardly have time to get on the computer!! Definitely going to try and carve out a little time to hop on here because you ladies help keep me accountable! Anyways the ideas with making sure any veggies are dry, and the jars or air tight containers is a fantastic idea! A lot of time at work there is not enough healthy food around, but plenty of processed foods which I try to have at a minimum!

I am over 15 weeks now, looking at about a 7lb gain so far so I am trying to maintain right now, and let the rest of the weight gain happen later on in my pregnancy. I am trying not to focus on the pounds, but on the other hand it's a catch 22 because I was overweight before getting pregnant, so I have to be super careful about how much I gain to avoid any complications!

I have been eating really healthy, trying to eat as many veggies as possible, and doing light workouts a few days a week. My favorite right now is prenatal yoga and strength training with light weights, and I am about to start adding in daily planks, starting with 10 seconds 3 times each, then building up to a minute.

Happy Halloween Preggos & Nursers! Yes...I had another trio of Snickers yesterday too!!! Can't wait for the kiddos to clean me out, we always get a lot of cuties through our neighborhood.

Little girl woke up at 1:30am and then at 5am....just when I think I have her sleep figured out she throws me for a loop! Needless to say I did not get out to run this morning. I have Bodypump planned tomorrow and want to join my running group for the first time on Sat...crossing my fingers the stars align!

Keep it up Pink hurricane! I was 50/50 with my eating while Preggo...the veggie & chicken/meat aversion left a carb overload! I definitely gained more than I should, but keeping up my exercise I believe contributed to pain free pregnancy and quick recovery.
