  • So one of the biggest reasons for losing weight was that my husband and I wanted to have a baby. Took the at home test today and I am gonna be a Mommy!! I am so excited! Waiting on a phone call back from the doctor to make an appointment! My hubby and I are thrilled!

Being so close to my goal weight I am a little bummed that I won't be reaching it by the end of the year, but its for an awesome cause!

I want to thank you all for all of your support! I'm gonna hang out here to continue being healthy throughout my pregnancy, but will obviously not looking to continue losing weight. I honestly don't know what else to say, so I'll just say yay!

Here's to a healthy and happy 9 months!!!!
  • Congratulations!!!!!
  • Went to the department of health to confirm it July 3 and I am 4 weeks pregnant. I have my first checkup on July 26! Gonna stick around here to keep me motivated to eat healthy and exercise and make sure I don't get into the mentality of " I've gotta eat for two."

Everything I've read about the 1st trimester is that I should only gain between 1-5 pounds. And since my BMI is overweight I should only gain between 15-25 total during pregnancy. I know that the baby will do what it needs to do and I may very well gain more or less. My goal during this time is to make sure I am getting balanced diet and keep up the walking. My friend said that swimming and walking are the best exercise.

GlamourGirl827 I see you are only a month away from your due date! Do you have any advice?

Seeing as I went from 160 lbs to about 220 lbs with my first two kids, and from about 145 lbs to currently about 225 lbs with this one, you may not want to follow any of my advice!
I did lose it each time so I guess that's good!

Don't be surprised if in the next few weeks morning (haha its all day) sickness is so bad you wont be eating much anyway. I lost about 7-10 lbs the first trimester with each and still managed to gain all that weight in the last two trimesters!

I think my first mistake was after spending the first threee months wishing to die from exhausion and vomiting, I did not get back to an exercise program when I started to feel better. And I was so relieved to be able to kee food down and have something besides broth and crackers, I just wanted to eat!!

I've have been walking the past month or so with this one, but it was too little too late. So I would suggest to keep an exercise program, even if you have to tone it back.

Also I did finally try to count cals with this one (not my first two), but honestly when I had a craving, I ate it, regardless of whether it was over calories or not. Now sometimes the craving was fruit and yogurt but othertimes it was ice cream. Even so, I'm still amazed I put on this much weight with each pregnancy. If I eat completely uninhibited without exercise when not prego I usually even out around 185 lbs, but the same think pregnant and I seem to stop around 220 - 230.

I would say don't do what I did. Instead, count calories, don't go over. Maintain exercise the whole time.

Lol! Thanks for the advice! I'm going to try my best! If nothing else I'm going to walk with DH every night, swim some laps in the pool and continue to be obsessive with counting everything. I love that My Fitness Pal actually has the option to Maintain, Gain 0.5 pound a week, and Gain 1 pound a week, so I can stay on top of everything! Now I just have to have the willpower not to give in to these cravings people keep mentioning. Luckily I haven't had that yet.

My sister in law gained around 70 with each of her pregnancies and I'm terrified that I would let that happen.
