So got a surprise call from my doctor yesterday....the sonogram tech called and told him what happened, so he wants me to come to the hospital this morning for a repeat sonogram! He's determined to get us a gender for Christmas. About to leave and head that way....wish me luck!!
Sorry for the late update...but no luck. With the doctor!! He didn't even show up. I was there an hour waiting for him and they finally called him...he wasn't even in town! Said he could be there in an hour but we has to leave and go out of town. I was so upset and angry I cried for three hours! He said call Monday to try then but the clinic isn't even open. Don't know what he is thinking.
Mindi- Sorry about what happened with the doctor. How unprofessional for him to call and ask you and then not show up. Let us know when you do get in for an appointment. Hoping you find out soon and that you had a great xmas anyways.
How were all your xmas days? We spent the day with family and doing laundry.
Went shopping today. Got a swing, bouncer, playard, onesies and a diaper bag. We went to a second hand shop we have here and the stuff is all "like new" but we saved over 150$ on it all. We got a teddy bear too =]
Once I got over it, Christmas was good. Plenty of time with family and all. I'm going to call in the morning and see if we can try a sonogram this week sometime and maybe get some more cooperation from the baby, and I'm telling my husband it must be a boy because it doesn't listen!
The tech said he wouldn't even venture to guess either way, and that he normally would. This one was crossed, tucked and turned. DH says he's convinced it's a girl, even though the tech has been doing this same job since 1983 and said he couldn't tell at ALL.
Going to call the doctor's office in a couple of hours and see when he can get me in. I don't have a lot of trust in him at all right now. He said he will get me in for a sonogram whenever I want....we'll see if he was telling the truth!
8:45 am Wednesday is the ultrasound re-do. The doctor apologized for Saturday...whether he was sincere or not I do not know. I am going to pretend that he was, regardless. Keep your fingers crossed that the baby's legs are NOT crossed in the morning!!!
Good luck tomorrow Mindi!!
we had a good christmas, it was just DF and me and he made out like a bandit lol.
Dr. appointment in two days. Not looking forward to waking up so early to sit around the Dr. office for a hour. but I hope it's not as long as the first appointment (2 hours) and I can get home and maybe steal a bit of a nap before work.
i got a letter yesterday saying I have a appointment for a ultra-sound on the 18th it's on a workday, but thankfully a bit early. I'll be 18 weeks along so maybe they will see a gender? hope so.
I had a headache for the past two days that painkillers wouldn't even touch. but thankfully it seems to be gone now. My toothache/ear ache turned out to be an ear infection thankfully so it's being treated tight now.
I'm not feeling the baby move which is making me a little nervious. I know for bigger girls with their first they sometimes won't feel the baby till week 20 or so. But I could feel the little twinges that I figured was the baby moving a few weeks ago but those are gone now. so perhaps I was feeling something else.
Sakai- I felt baby twinge like move only a few times starting at 14 1/2 weeks. Baby didn't really start moving until around 19 weeks and now at 22 baby kicks constantly and I wish he/she didn't because it keeps me up all night long some nights. Don't worry! It's completely normal though. Your dr can reassure you with a heartbeat check at your appt!
Mindi- i've known it was this day since my first appt, mid october. I've waited this long, I don't think one more weeks gonna kill me. though I hate waiting and am impatient, at least I see an end in sight.
Glad everyone had a good Christmas. We had a nice Christmas, I was hoping the baby would give me a Christmas present of a big kick but nope. I did have a bigger movement the next day (boxing day in Canada) at my mom's house that was for sure baby. I am so impatient for those big movements! We go to see our back-up midwife on January 5th so will get to hear the HB which I am looking forward to. I have to book my anatomy scan, I think i will go around 19 weeks. My nausea seems to be mostly gone and today was my second day in a row that I didn't puke upon waking
Sakai- Those little flutters and twinges you were feeling were probably baby. They tend to be a bit sporadic when they are this little as the baby is still so little and has lots of room in there so can be kicking and bouncing around and not be making much contact with the uterus' Also if they turn around and are kicking towards the back you don't really feel it. Plus if you are busy or moving around it is hard to notice. Even with my second who was extremely active later in the second and in the third trimester I would go days without feeling anything at this stage in pregnancy (I have to keep reminding myself this) Soon enough you will be feeling those big kicks and so will I
Mindi- Hope you your baby co-operated today!
Keller- I hope your baby co-operates at your gender ultrasound too.
It looks like I am the only one not finding out the gender. So I have about 24 weeks to wait I was tempted this time, I didn't find out with my other children either, but I like the surprise at birth and since I am hoping for a VBA2C am hoping that will help give me the extra strength in labour.
Well the dr said it is likely a girl, but he isn't sure enough for us to start buying pink clothes yet! He said there could still be boy parts there, so he wants to do another scan in 4 or 5 weeks to verify...but for now to be thinking of girls' names. DH is ok with it, but I'm afraid to believe it! A friend of mine has a daughter due in February... At 20 weeks she was told the baby was for sure a girl with a sonogram just like mine. Then at 25 weeks the "for sure girl" changed to boy, and has been confirmed in several ultrasounds. So I'm afraid to do anything but pick a name just yet!
