Born 01/05/11 3:52pm 7lbs 8oz 20 1/4" long
We're both home and doing well.

I gained about 18 pounds during the pregnancy and am down about 10 lbs already. Hopefully the balance will come off and I can get back to the forum and lose the rest of this weight. ;)

Happy New Year everyone!!!

What a total cutie! Congrats! Look at all that hair. :D

And you'll have the rest of that weight gone before you know it!!

Gale02 01-10-2011 11:04 AM

Congratulations! I'm so glad you're all doing well. How are you adjusting so far to life with baby?

He is a handsome little man!! I love the fuzzy tiny baby heads, so sweet. :)

AbbySinthe 01-10-2011 11:44 AM

Thanks everyone.
Quail - I know! They couldn't even get the vacuum on him because of his hair. I will say the wivestale is true for me: I had unbelievable heartburn throughout the pregnancy and sure enough, he came out looking like he had a wig on!

Gale - I am thoroughly overwhelmed :) You really have absolutely NO idea what you're in for until the little guy actually shows up. But so far, we're hanging in there. Thanks for asking :)

Gale02 01-10-2011 01:32 PM

It is overwhelming for sure. Just try to prioritize what's really important and remember that the rest will still be there when you get into a little better rhythm and routine. The first couple of months are far and away the hardest and it (in my experience) gets MUCH easier after that.

Are you going to go back to work?

MyBodyisMyTemple 01-10-2011 03:43 PM

He's A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!

Congratulations!!!

emiloots 01-10-2011 06:11 PM

Congrats!!! What a beautiful little boy!

AbbySinthe 01-11-2011 01:22 PM

Thanks, ladies.

Gale - Yeah, right now, we're working on getting into a routine. He's up every 3 hours for a change (or 3) and a feeding. The hardest is definitely the lack of sleep. About 6pm every day, I've been hitting the wall. The nights are the hardest. But we're getting there. I just keep reminding myself, he won't be like this forever, he'll sleep through eventually, etc. It helps. :)

Yes, going back to work. I have 6 weeks disability and then I think NJ has paid FMLA so I'll be back to work in about 12 weeks. I can't even imagine.

Thanks for asking. It feels good hearing from someone who's been there done that and I really appreciate your feedback :)

Welcome Mason Brian

We men of 3FC welcome new members.

There are several considerations in planning your journey:

Weight Goal: What do you wish to weigh in the next month? Next year?

Eating Plan: What is your eating plan for the next month? Many small meals is a plus.

Nutrition: Food should be balanced. Avoid fad foods. Count your beers - they have calories.

Cardio Vascular Exercise: It's very important to build up strong lungs - whatever way you know how.

Flexibility: Many men on 3FC can barely touch their toes. Begin working on that.

Sleep: Ample sleep is majorly important - get plenty. Note that you can also sleep at night for a change of pace.

FDLOL @ BillBlueEyes!

Abby, knowing it won't last forever is the first step to retaining your sanity. ;) Try to enjoy each stage for what it is, although it may be hard at times. The hard things in each stage will pass and, unfortunately, so will the good. Try to focus on the good while it lasts (of course, there are always new good things to come!) The lack of sleep is definitely the hardest part. Everyone says "sleep when the baby sleeps!" because it's true. Take naps during the day while he's sleeping (even short ones). The housework, etc. will still be there when you get up... it's SO not a priority right now. :)
