Possibly TMI

To those that have already had their babies. Did you have loose stool or diarrhea during the last weeks or days prior to having the baby?
I'm on my 36th week. A few days ago I started getting the feeling every once in a while like as if I would get diarrhea soon but nothing would happen. Yesterday it finally happened, I think I made 4 trips during the day and 2-3 trips during the night. I don't feel 100% now. During the night it seemed to happen after the baby would start moving around.
I googled about it and some women were saying that the same thing happened to them and they ended up having the baby 2 weeks later.
Just wondering if there is a link here.

Yes this happened to me too....I think your body just works on getting stuff cleaned out before baby comes for whatever reason. Sounds like you're getting close!! Good luck!

Found this:

http://www.womenshealthcaretopics.com/preg_diarrhea.htm

Here's an excerpt:

"Many women report having diarrhea right before they start labor. This may be the body's way of preparing room for delivery. Diarrhea that is severe may also result from viruses or food poisoning. Some women find that sugar free candies or other artificial products can contribute to bowel problems in late pregnancy. If you find you suffer from chronic diarrhea during pregnancy you may want to re-evaluate your diet. "

Thank you, I'm hoping he doesn't come till after my mom flies in on the 10th. She's supposed to be here to help watch the kids, if he came early it would totally have us running like chickens with our heads cut off. LOL

Things haven't changed, I started getting painless contractions yesterday. This doesn't sound good...baby could come very soon. :(

I hope everything goes well!! Stay hydrated that's what might have caused the contractions

I think you're right, Contractions have slowed but they haven't gone away completely. all I want it for him to stay put till I get into my 38th week....that's all I ask for.

I had loose stools for about 3 weeks before both my kids were born. Not the best part of pregnancy, but better than the constipation I guess. Hope yours eases up and that baby waits for another couple weeks.
