August Preggos!

WOW It's a new month already!!

I tried going without my unisom this weekend, saturday was okay...sunday was iffy and I could barely eat dinner. I'd think that at 22 weeks the morning sickness would be subsiding:(

Walked over 3 miles on tuesday and I'm still feeling it, my hips are so sore it's not even funny. I REALLY need to start up yoga again.

Hi ladies, I'm excited to be joining you! I am pregnant with my second child and nearing the end of the 1st trimester. I gained 65+ lbs with my son and refuse to let that happen again. I've found I'm really struggling this past week and decided to look for some online support. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome ThinBeforeThirty!!

Always glad to have a new pregnant woman in our group!

ThinBeforeThirty 08-13-2009 01:05 AM

Thanks! I dragged myself to the gym this morning and jogged/walked 4 miles. I felt great afterwards and realized it is so worth it and so much better than an extra hour of sleep would have been. I need to keep it up. My next OB appointment is in 2 days and I'm a little nervous to see my official weight on the doctor's scale...

At what time during the pregnancy does someone have a baby shower, also who traditionally hosts?

MeganBeth 08-13-2009 01:45 PM

With my first I had my baby shower in early December (due Jan) and my mom and grandma hosted it, then my dads family did one in mid december hosted by my Aunts.

This time around I'm planning a little get together gifts not requested in October (due Dec 7th). Since we're having another boy we don't need much, mostly a couple big things (double stroller, carseat for DS, and cloth diapers). So we're going to ask if people don't want to give a gift, but don't want to do gift cards or cloth diapers that they make a donation to the childrens home society of disposable diapers or clothes instead.

I had my baby shower(s) in October, due in December. My cousin and mom hosted one (they were my "baby people", there all through labor and delivery and my closest friends during my pregnancy) and my aunt and a family friend hosted the other. I had two because I lived in a different state for several years and my family and friends there requested one. I wasn't complaining! :)

MeganBeth - I love blueberries, too! Both times I've been pregnant, I've craved EVERYTHING blueberry.

jasmine987 08-15-2009 07:43 PM

Thank you for the replies, I think my mom plans to host one. However I am due on Feb. 2 so with all the holidays we were thinking late oct. early nov. I was not sure if that was too early. I find out the sex in Sept.

Gale02 08-16-2009 06:32 PM

I don't think it's too early, necessarily. Although once I had my baby showers I started getting really impatient for Caleb to get here so still having months to go would have been hard. I got all of the cute stuff and I wanted to use it right away!

Hey!

Had my 20-week check up yesterday. They had to check me for GD because the baby's stomach measures 1 week larger than her head. Everything checked out fine, so DR said we'll just have to keep a watch on it. Why do they tell you stuff like that--like we don't worry enough already....

My next appt. is Sept. 16th, 24 weeks!
