Just starting a new thread... Baby, family and I are doing well. I am eating way too much halloween candy at night and putting on some pounds. Gotta stop raiding the pantry. Anyone wanna take some halloween candy off my hands...if I was working, I'd bring it into the nurses station. Those nurses would have it gone in a few hours.

I hope that everyone is feeling great and the babies are doing good. Went in for my 28 wk appt and found that I had gained 4 lbs. I have only gained 9 lbs so far this pregnancy, but I was still not a happy camper. I have not changed my eating habits at all. Lots of salads and lean protiens, yogurts, healthy snacks. By golly if I am going to gain that kind of weight I am gonna start eating that ice cream I crave every night instead of a weekly treat. My midwife is so great and never makes me feel bad about it. She is so supportive and tells me that it is ok and that I am still way under what the avg is for most women at this time and to not worry about it. I am trying not to let it get to me, but when you feel like you are being a "good girl" and then you see a gain like that it is frustrating. I have not been as active so maybe that has something to do with it. I am trying, but some days it feels like this kid is about to fall out of my cooter already and I still got about 12 weeks left - oh the pressure.

I am already going in every 2 weeks. Some days it feels like this pregnancy is flying by and other times not so much.

I had better get back to work so take care all and ttfn.

9 lbs. in 28 weeks with twins is quite low....I wouldn't worry about it. You are going to gain weight even when you are eating healthy foods - don't think that just because you are gaining weight that you should engorge yourself on ice cream and other unhealthy foods. Remember that the foods that you eat, your babies are eating as well.

Had a doc. appt. on Monday - everything is fine. BP was great. I had to do a non-stress test because I mentioned that this baby wasn't as active as DS1 was....he passed and everything looked good. I have another ultra-sound next week.

My doctor is such a pill pusher! Wants to give me a prescription for everything! Not sleeping at night? Take a pill. Weepy? Take a pill. He was rather surprised when I turned them down...said that with all this new technology, it wasn't necessary for someone to endure any bad symptoms of pregnancy. He was stunned when I told him that I didn't mind...that it was a sign of how my body was working to create this new life and that it was something I cherished. My biggest reason for not sleeping at night is because DS is going through a "nightmare" time and likes to come sleep in bed with us (he is a rough sleeper! elbows and knees in my back all night!) - not because of the pregnancy. Call me crazy, but I kind of like all the symptoms of pregnancy..not just the good ones.

9lbs wow! I'm at 30 weeks and have gained 25 so far. Of course I've deterred from eating healthy all the time and exercise is sporadic. I say way to go Lovin!

Zeff-can't believe that it would be safe to take too many drugs. My doc is the complete opposite. I had mentioned at my last visit that I was having a lot of soreness where the leg meets the pelvis, doc told me I was gonna have to tough it out til the lil guy was born.

Dream - I have sciatica too. Your doc probably told you that you were just going to have to tough it out because there really aren't any pain killers that are pregnancy safe - well, beyond an epidural or something that would knock you out.

Check into different stretches for sciatica pain...they really work wonders. That doesn't mean that I never have pain, but far less than before I started stretching the area.

That being said, I am still wary of taking Rx drugs..even when I'm not pregnant.

Lovin - about feeling like the baby is going to fall out...I feel your pain on that. I don't know if it is because this is my second pregnancy or what, but there are definitely times that I feel like he's falling out.

Had an ultrasound and exam today - baby is BIG! Blood sugar is really good, CDC count is great, blood pressure is good, weight is stable. Everyone is healthy.

There is a minor discrepancy in the day of my c-section that I need to have straightened out, though. Nothing big, just a few days difference and DH is off of work the entire month of December and most of January.

Hey fellow preggos! I thought I'd pop on here and introduce myself. I've been on 3FC for a bit and had some great success with The Biggest Loser challenge over the summer (go blue team!!). We're now expecting our third little bundle of fun in July and I'm adjusting to being pregnant again. My goal is to maintain a good level of fitness throughout this pregnancy so that I can have a nice simple homebirth and not face a huge battle of weight loss after the baby is born. I'm hoping to be able to continue running for a fair bit of my pregnancy and I'm making an effort to get my butt back in gear this week despite that darned first trimester fatigue!

Kim-Congrats and Welcome! I also was very active in the BL challenges. I had to drop out of the spring challenge once I got pregnant but can't wait to start again!

Zeff-glad to hear everything went good at the doc appt.


Some exciting news for the week my SIL had twins! Everyone is doing good.

Gee, I was wondering why there was no one posting but I forgot that it was a new month and a new thread!

I'm doing well. I had another u/s at 13 weeks for the DS test and the baby looked good and passed the u/s version of the test. Still have to finish the blood portion.

I saw my specialist last week (in Portland, OR) and he told me that at this point since my remission tests are still negative, that if they do become positive during the pregnancy he doesn't think that I will come out of remission far enough to need to go back on my meds. Which makes me VERY happy to hear - a NORMAL pregnancy and not having to expose my baby to that.

Oh and also a for the remission tests still being negative I get one every month. Next one is due next week.

Kim - Congrats!

lovinlife - I'm sure that your doctor would tell you if he/she wanted you to gain more or less weight. The fact that he/she doesn't mind your weight means that you are probbaly on track for where they think you should be.

Zeff - I hear you on the drugs - I am the same way when I am not pregnant. I hate to take anything unless absolutely necessary.

modkittn - what are you in remission for? Sorry if you've already answered it....I have mega jello brain

Frick. I hate third trimester sleepless nights and fatigue during the days. It hasn't been too bad today - I've gotten dinner made already, the kitchen cleaned and most of the downstairs cleaned....yesterday wasn't so great though. I felt bad parking DS in front of a movie while I napped but I just couldn't function! I also served my family oatmeal and toast for dinner....

Haha don't worry about it I have chronic myelegenous leukemia (CML), and before I got pregnant, I took a pill every day that was basically targeted chemotherapy. Which means I still have all my hair and stuff, and the drug mostly just attacks the bad cells that it is supposed to. I say mostly because I did experience a lot of side effects from it (BTW, I felt GREAT for the first few weeks of pregnancy because of no medication, but then pregnancy nausea set in!). I was in remission for 2 years before becoming pregnant, and I planned the pregnancy with my doctors. I had a script written for the blood pregnancy test, and as soon as it was even elevated I went off my meds (about 11 dpo). So far, remission tests are still negative, but I do get checked once a month. After I deliver I will have to go back on the medication. Which means I can't breastfeed. The medicine is not a cure, but can supress the leukemia enough to make it undetectable. If a person goes off the medication though, they will relapse. It is just a matter of when. Since I went into remission really quickly and had been in remission for 2 years, the doctors thought I would be able to make it through a pregnancy either without relapsing at all or at least if I do relapse, they do not think it will be to the point that the leukemia is so uncontrolled that I will need to go back on the meds. Only a handful of women have done this, so I'm kind of like a guinea pig!

Wow, Modkittn. Amazing story! Glad that your body reacted to the meds well enough and that your doctors said it was ok for you to get pg. Most women would have written that off.

Oh I went for a second opinion at one point and it was a female doctor at a very prestigious Boston hospital and she told me that she might recommend that I have a bone marrow transplant if one of my brothers was a match (side note - my younger brother is a perfect match, so I always have a "backup"), but that if I did the medication instead I couldn't ever have children and I couldn't ever have my eggs taken and use a surrogate and so either way all I would ever be able to do was adopt. I was like "I don't think so" (mostly because I did a TON of research and also this wasn't anywhere near the opinion of my local hematologist) and got a third opinion with the best doctor in the country on CML, which is why I go to Portland, OR every year. He is the guy who invented the medication that I am on. Oh and he said with the medication OR the transplant, I should still be able to have my eggs taken. Which is what I read all over the web. And I never went back to that woman in Boston.
