modkittn - aren't you a lucky gal with out any morning sickness yet. Mine hit me at about 8wks and stayed until about 14wks. It hit me morning, noon and night - not fun. But with my first two pregnancies I had none, a little nauseous here and there, but never got sick once. I felt pretty lucky and was hopeful this time, but no such luck. They do have me on blood pressure medicine already this time so maybe that has something to do with it to.
As for being so tired at work...I feel ya. There were times I was so tired I wanted to lock myself in the bathroom and take a nap in there so that I could have some peace. I know so icky...but I was that tired. :dizzy: Luckily it never got to that point. I think it is something that you may just have to ride out. Try maybe walking around or taking a nap at lunch time??? Let us know how your scan goes...how exciting. |
The ultrasound, after being an hour late, went great! The tech said the baby looked good, and the heartbeat was normal. I got to see and hear the heartbeat - amazing! :)
Apparently I have a tilted uterus. They had to do an internal u/s because of it. Also, I'm further along then they though. My EDD is May 1st instead of May 5th. |

How fun Modkitten!! Doesn't it just make it all that much more real when you hear the heartbeat and see the baby for the first time? I still love hearing his heartbeat, it never gets old. :)
|
Yes, the heartbeat was the best part! It made me cry :)
Well this morning I woke up with really bad nausea! First time that's happened. I actually had to call into work and tell them I would be late. I left when I felt fine (normal actually!) And when I got to work I started feeling sick again. I felt better after I ate lunch. I wanted to try to stay another 3 hours, so I hope that I stay feeling OK! |
Your little bean is perfect! Hearing the heartbeat is just amazing...I still love to hear it at every visit.
Sorry to hear that the nausea is kicking in, but just remember that is a good sign your body is doing all that it needs to do. |
Ugh...
It just occured to me that I will be pregnant during the holidays. With all the yummy holiday food!!! Mmmmm turkey and cranberry sauce! *drool* |

Hey, ladies! Still lurking around. Ready to deliver this baby! Got my older boys through the first few weeks of school, my current baby got some mommy time and my to do list is done!! Considering going into work for a few hours over the weekend to see if some "nursing" can stimulate some uterine activity. Dh thinks I am nuts. I am just so uncomfortable with so much pressure...I can barely walk, too. OB appt today so maybe I have dilated a little more this week! Tune in...

Hi ladies...I hope that everyone is doing well and hanging in there.
modkitten - I have already thought about the holidays too...yeah - no guilt for me. I have already been craving stuffing and pumpkin pie. almsthere - wow...you have been one busy momma - sounds like some nesting to me. Hang in there, you are almost done. I remember with my daughter the last 2 weeks were so bad. There was all this pressure and I was sure that she was just going to fall right out of my cooter at any second that's how low it felt like she was. She came 7 days early and I was only in labor for 3hours and 52 minutes so maybe all the pressure is a good sign. We are off to Colorado for the weekend to attend a wedding. I am ready to get out of town, but not real ready for a 10 hour road trip with my kidos fighting in the back of the van. I am hoping betweent he TV and Nintendo DS's that they will be entertained...wish me luck. Have a great weekend everyone and I will check on everyone Monday! |
Hey girls! I just noticed this thread was here and thought I would say hi!
I'm a SAHM of a two year old son and am scheduled for a c-section on Dec. 31 with my second son :) Looking forward to getting to know everyone! |
So I saw the OB/GYN yesterday. She did an exam, asked a bunch of questions, and I had blood work, etc done. There were some questions I wanted to ask but that I totally forgot about, so I need to call today to ask. The main one is about continuing my physical therapy, if I should, how long I should for, and if the exercises I do for it are OK to continue with or not. She is scheduling a consultation with a high-risk OB, as well as a Level 2 Ultrasound at my 20 week appointment because of the leukemia and also that I was still taking my meds for it for the first 6-8 days that I was pregnant. We will be finding out the sex then too. It seems so far away! We will also have an ultrasound in 3 weeks for the Down Syndrome test.
almsthere - Good luck with that list! lovinlifex2 - I've never been to Colorado, but I would love to. I hear its absolutely gorgeous, especially near the mountains (and I love mountains and hiking :)) Good luck with the kids in the car! :welcome2: zeffryn |
Hey all,
Modkitten, I'm glad everything is going well. Don't worry, 20 weeks will be here before you know it! My second tri FLEW by, almost before I could blink it seems. :) Welcome Zeffryn, I'm glad you've joined us in the pregnant/nursing forum! Almsthere, I hope you got good news from the OB and the little one is on her way! lovinlife, I hope you had a good trip to CO, fighting kids and all! Good thoughts being sent your way for the trip home... I'm still hanging in here. I've finally found out what Braxton Hicks contractions are... can't say they're much fun. Not usually painful, but uncomfortable for sure. I felt the baby doing some serious gymnastics in my stomach last night, had I been watching I'm sure I would have seen him roll all the way across my tummy. DH has been able to feel him more and more, I know he likes that... we both do. :) I'm going to CO this weekend for baby shower #1 on Saturday, but I think hubby and I are going leave a few days early and spend some time alone - without the dogs or any interruptions. It could be a while before we get to do that again. He's been so busy with work and school (full time work and full time+ school) that I feel like I haven't seen him much lately. We'll see. I think he's leaning toward staying at home for those extra couple of days while I want to get out and away. Hehe... that's the difference between a SAHW and a full time working DH I guess. Either way, it'll be nice to have some time together. I have my 3rd tri ultrasound on Wednesday, I can't wait! He's grown nearly 10 inches since we last saw him. Hopefully we'll get a good view of his face this time, he kept his hands up by his mouth the whole time for the last one. My OB told me at my last appointment that I must get onto a day shift (I've been living on graveyard with DH for 4+ years now), since living nights makes the risk for preterm labor go up exponentially. I knew it was going to happen eventually, but I really don't like not sleeping with DH. I don't sleep nearly as well when he's not with me. That's my goal for this week, hopefully I'll be successful. Wish me luck, changing schedules sucks. I hope everyone has a great week! I'll be in and out for the next couple weeks, but I'll try to pop in when I can. |
Good luck Gale with your schedule! I wouldn't like sleeping without my DH either :(
Well I broke down and bought maternity jeans. Same size as my regular pants, and they fit great and are super comfy! I put on a Bella Band to keep them up. I was just sick of all my pants being way too tight around my stomach and having to unbutton them all. I thought I would try the Bella Band with all my regular pants, just unbuttoned. But its just not comfortable to me. I like the maternity pants much better. I feel like its too early for them though! I'm just hoping that everyone isn't thinking "Oh I wonder if she's pregnant" because I definitely look... well I look something. My chest is bigger and my stomach is bigger but the rest of me is about the same. My DH told out neighbors that I'm pregnant and they said they were wondering if I was. I wonder if all my co-workers are thinking that... I still have 4-5 weeks before I can make an announcement! I hope I make it that long before its blatantly obvious. |
So, I'm still here. :tantrum: Lists have been completed and new lists made and those are done, too! I keep telling myself that I am not overdue and each additional day/week is good for the baby! Putting some meat on those little bones. Off to run some errands and tie up loose ends.
Ob visit had nothing new to say some further thinning but no dilating! I had some contractions last night and early this am but nothing has progressed to labor. Oh, how I hate the waiting game...Patience is a virtue that I don't have! :dizzy: |
