Hi Christina! And hi to all the other preggos!

I wish I could say I hadn't gained any weight too, but I certainly have! I'm hoping the gain will level off a bit. I think my body was a bit shocked by not only eating more but also stopping my running. Going from running 25 miles a week to the occasional walk is definitely a change.

I saw my OB yesterday and got to finally hear the baby's heartbeat. It was 156 and it sounded so fast! My husband and I were very excited. I go back on March 6th, then I have my 2nd ultrasound on March 19th, when I hope to find out the sex. I told my husband he doesn't have to come to every appointment with me (we make the appointments as late in the day as possible and find other teachers to cover our last classes, so it can be difficult to arrange), but he said, "No way! I want to hear the heartbeat every time I get a chance." He doesn't want to miss out on anything, which I think is very cool.

My nausea was back, but I think it's going away again. I'm 14 weeks today, so I'm hoping for that 2nd trimester burst of energy soon...

clarabr, if you don't check back in before the big day, here's wishing you turning vibes and best of luck with your delivery. Come back and let us know how it went.
Thanks! He hasn't turned. Apparently it's not gonna happen, and I'll have a c-section on Thursday (if I don't go into labor before that, of course). I'll post an update as soon as I have one!

LisaMarie, enjoy that second trimester! In my humble opinion, it's the only comfortable one...

While we are on the subject of c-sections and long labor, I just wanted to throw something out there. :)

I was in labor with Saber, my third, for a full week. I had a natural birth. I went from 0-3cm in the first 3 days, and from 3-4cm on the fourth day. I didn't dilate any further until day 6. It was slow, but the baby and I were dealing with it just fine. I didn't need any pain medication until day 6.

You can have a long labor, and NOT have to have a c-section, as long as you and the baby are fine. Seriously. A lot of times, it is the DOCTOR and STAFF who want it overwith...not always a medical neccessity.

I actually stayed home in early labor for the first few days. I went in to the doctors office each day, was checked, and I monitored my contractions, etc. and basically just didn't get admitted until I was closer to delivery.

However, when you get admitted, the doctors and staff want it to be done and over. The doctor wants to go home. I think this, honestly, is part of the reason c-sections are done sometimes...

Hello everyone. I am now 24 weeks pregnant, gaied about 13 lbs. I can't really feel my son move. I just had a doctor visit and the heartbeat is fine and saw him move. My doctor said that the way he is laying might be why I dont really feel his movements. I thought it had to do with my size. Does anyone else have that problem? :)

Hello..I'm newly pregnant!

Hello, Ladies! I am SOOO HAPPY to have found this forum. I just recently joined the LAWL forum in DEC when my center closed. I was about 7lbs from my goal when I discovered I was pregnant. We are totally psyched as we were TTC since Sept. This will be #4 for us. I have 3 boys. With each pregnancy, while BF, I rejoined LAWL program and lost my baby weight. Although, it was a lot harder this last pregnancy. I think I "rewarded" myself with too much chocolate for surviving the day at the end of the night; plus, I am not a natural water drinker, either.

Is there anyone else who has done LA wt loss, pure etc? I would love to compare notes as to the next step or what I should do about my eating.
I talked to my OB over the summer about my dieting and could I continue if I was pregnant but dieting healthy. She said yes. I also wanted to start exercising...but I am not sure where to start with that. Anyone have a good prenatal tape...preferably not yoga...that they could recommend to me?

This will be the first pregnancy for me in about 2 yrs. So, I'm hoping to continue down the healthy journey! Looking forward in getting to know you!
Thanks in advance!

Oh...I'm 5 wks today! Due Oct 2008

almsthere-

I have not done LAWL, but I used to be moderator over in that section. I am pretty familiar with their plans, food exchanges, etc.

If you don't like yoga, there is a dvd that I had that I really liked called "Quick Fix Prenatal Workout". You can order it from Amazon. It is a light strength training workout, and is in 3, 10 minute sections. You can do one at a time, or all together for a 30 minute workout. I really, really enjoyed this one. :)

It has upper body, lower body, and core segments. You use light weights.

Hey guys!

I had my baby on Feb 7th as planned. He didn't turn, so we ended up with a c-section. Everything went well and my little guy is gorgeous! We're all madly in love with him. I'm exhausted and crazy busy so I haven't been online much, but I'll try to post once in a while. Or at least read! Oh, and I've lost 17 lbs already. You guys were right, it does come off! Now the funny thing is I'm so happy and overwhelmed at the same time that weight is the last thing on my mind...

Hi clarabr,

I was just wondering if you'd had your baby yet. Congratulations! Get as much rest as you can and enjoy getting to know your son.
