weaning and gaining
We are still nursing at 13 months and loving it. We are down to only morning and night. Do you think I am still getting the calorie burn from only nursing twice a day. I am kinda scared to quit nursing cause I don't want to gain the weight back. Right now I am 10 pounds lighter than when I got pregnant.

I nursed for 3-1/2 years and I don't think I gained any weight when my daughter weaned a few months ago (She'll be four on August 29th). Of course, I think I was gaining weight the whole time I was nursing, even with a big eater of a daughter... Sigh...

with 2 nursings a day you are probably getting only 200-300 calories "burn"
Just watch things closely as you wean - if the scale starts to creep, cut back a little on calories or add some exercise. Dont wait for it to become 10 lbs. If you wean slowly it shouldnt be dramatic. |
Well, logically, if you aren't producing as much milk, you aren't burning as many calories.
As ennay sad, just keep an eye on the calories and the scales. |
