Default Hey, where is everyone today?

I admit it. I did it. I bought the Atkins book from eBay. Waiting on it to arrive one day this week. I couldn't stand it! My program sounded so lame, even to me, and I "created" it!! Anyone out there had any success with it? Hoping to lose 10 pounds that first 2 weeks, as I was told by the woman I bought the book from. Sounds good to me! I may need some support on this issue, ladies. Is this a good way for girls who suffer from PCOS to lose? Appreciate any feedback.

Every body is different and reacts differently to food. I have never investigated the Atkins plan. It is too restrictive for me to stick with it. You may be very successful and love the results, and I'm hoping you are. I'm sure you will feel better getting rid of the carbs. Keep us posted on how you like it and if it is giving you the results you want.

Hey Sherrie,
How are you?
I am just low carbing it. have neverdone Atkins. Here is a low carb thread you might want to join. Some members do Atkins. But the point of the thread is to support each other.
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...threadid=8977.
I hope that works. If not we are under misc groups the low carb/ kick butt thread.

I know my PCOS symtoms( some) are improved with this woe.

hey sherrie-- the atkins plan will certainly help your pcos. the only problem is that it is difficult to stick with the atkins plan long term. you will lose a significant amt of wt in a relatively short time period. hope it works out for you. i find it too difficult to maintain any kind of normal lifestyle.

I appreciate the input, and I have a hard time sticking to anything long term! I guess that's how I got this way, so I'll just have to change it. Tell me, after you get fed up with Atkins, what sort of plan do you follow? I've been low-carb "label shopping" but I'm still new at this. I need planned meals for now, I guess. Hope everything is going well for you all.

hi sherrie! one of the things you can do once you get sick of being on the atkins plan is to switch to the carbohydrate addicts diet. i have found that it is "liveable". you can actually go to parties, etc & still stay within the limits of the plan. i understand what you mean by having a difficult time sticking to something long term, but as i am getting older i am learning the lesson to make permanent small changes that lead to the big changes. losing wt is easy-- it's keeping it off that is hard! permanent lifestyle changes is what will keep the wt off 4ever. easier said than done. let me know how it works out for you.
