  • I know that I struggle with exercise and I'm sure that others do too. Since exercise is one of the best things for Insulin Resistance it is very important for those of us who deal with this to get moving.

I challenge you to exercise 600 minutes in June...It works out to 30 minutes, 5 days a week. We Can Do It

  • IRISH!! I failed!! DAY #1.

Is it possible to play catch up? As long as we hit the 600 goal by the end of the month. Your the rule maker here. I did do a little house work tonight. Does that count?
  • You didn't fail! You have 29 days left to get some intentional exercise in. I wouldn't count housework. Major Yardwork maybe but everyday household stuff I don't count as exercise.
  • Great challenge idea! You are right. The exercise is SO important for us. It not only makes the difference in weight loss for the IR chick, but we're also at a higher risk of heart disease. Exercise for a longer, healthier life!
  • Irish! I'm doing double that, 60 mins / 5 days a week
  • Jiggly That is what I am working up too but am struggling to get there! Good for you!
  • Okay so I can work this out however I want, right? As long as the end result is 600 minutes? I'm just saying that because of my work schedule, some days/nights/mornings may be easier for me to get MORE time in is all I'm sayin.
  • FLADY Yep...the point is just for those of us that are struggling to get in any form of exercise excluding housework to work on moving more!
So however it works for you...go for it!
  • Well I was outside for 2 hours tonight working in the yard. I probably only worked about an hour and half between mowing the lawn with a reel mower and pulling up the carpeting on our deck Why do people do that?

But anyways I am only going to count 30 min of it today since I planned to get to the gym but didn't.

    Anyone else?
  • I did 15 minutes on my elliptical trainer and almost blew out a lung! I have been soooo lazy for so long that I think exercising is going to kill me. I'm going to try using my ab roller for a bit. I'm still suffering from an upset stomach for the Metformin, so I don't want to go too crazy with the working out. Also, I can't really go for a bike ride or a walk because I need to be really close to the bathroom!
  • KSC - I hear ya about the Met and I know all about its "side effects: I couldn't take it just made me too sick. Now I'm taking a "Form" of Met, but its different. Its Fortamet, it is much, much better, for me!

    Good Luck!
  • I want to join. I haven't been keeping a log of my exercise to this point, but will start today. 600 minutes by the end of June... I know we can do it!
  • journey2hlth! Nice to have you here at 3fc and in the exercise challenge!

    Good Luck!
You are right...we can do it!
  • How's everyone doing with the challenge? I'm only at 45 minutes so far
I've been keeping busy though, so that's gotta count for something!
  • KSC - no worries. I only have about 120 minutes so far............we'll get there!
