I don't have a whole lot left. I'm not having surgery of any type: the general surgeons don't want to remove the gallbladder, because they say nausea and vomitting isn't enough of a symptom to remove something. The hidascan is the only test that showed anything wrong, the ultrasounds and the endoscopy were both negative (normal?).
We all know what the plastic surgeons think: I sit home all day long and stuff my face, because clearly weight is all calories in-calories out. I've had 1500 calories today. 200 of that was the 20 ounce ginger ale I bought after swim lessons so I could get some solid food in me without getting sick. I ate breakfast this morning at 6:45 (egg beaters, some bacon, potatoes, a biscuit), didn't eat again till 4:30, when I had plain whole wheat pasta with broccoli, steak, and mushrooms. In between breakfast and dinner, I went to the Thanksgiving parade... only 2 students out of 5 showed up, and only 2 other staff. Two canceled the night before, which was okay, but one just disappeared. Its not like her, so I'm worried. Parade went well, we actually had some sun! :)
Then, as I said, dinner... and then to the gym for swim lessons. I had about 90 minutes between the time I got there and the time we started lessons, so I swam. For 90 minutes. 1.25 miles. Then we had lessons. I have the little ones first: 3-5 years old. And then I have the Level 1 group. I tend to get the really scared ones, and wind up giving them a semi-private lesson so they don't get too scared... We almost always grab something after lessons... so we went to this pizza place. I ordered two slices of plain pizza... then saw how big they were, and brought the other slice home. Its in the fridge, along with Friday night's dinner leftovers.
And now... I am going to BED! I left at 6:25 this morning, and it was 10:45 tonight before I came home.

:cheer: HORRAY!!!!!!!! MY BACK YARD IS FINALLY LANDSCAPED!!!!!! :cheer:

We finally finished the rest of it today. We scooped and spread out the rest of the gravel, and then built the stone path and river rocked it. Then I added some potted cacti and potted flowers to the patio. YAY I'm DONE!! I started this landscaping project last year...we got the rocks in August, now it's November and it's finished!! And it looks so nice...if I do say so myself. :D

Now my only problem is...I did wind up having extra river rock. Ugh...:dz: This means I will be filling in gaps in my front yard now with lovely river rock.

Hi girls you probally don't remember me, its been a long time. But I was wondering Noodles or Jennifer, having your hysterectomies, did it take away the monthly horrible pms symptoms. I heard you still can get them even after the surgery. My breast hurt 14-15 days before my period, ovary pain, severe bloating, 10 pounds of weight gain every month, not to mention the emotional aspects of it, increased anxiety and mood swings. I want to go in for my yearly and beg for one. I am only twentynine though. But I had two children and I am done having more little ones. Thanks a bunch! Julie

:balloons: WELCOME BACK, JBBM!! :balloons:

I don't get PMS anymore. I sitll crave chocolate though!! But I'd rather crave chocolate than have to bleed every month, have all of that uterine pain and bloating, etc..so I know what you mean.

If it is really bad for you and you are 101% sure you don't want anymore kids, go in and ask for one. That's what I did. My doctor made me think about it for a month to make sure this was what I wanted. After that 6 weeks of bleeding the last time and almost passing out, I had had enough!! OUT with the uterus!! I have no regrets except I wish I would have did it sooner.

There should be a way for us to just un-screw them or something when we're done with them. Like a light bulb.

Yea, the back yard does look nice if I do say so myself. :smug: I was just out there briefly to admire it...It's weird to look out there and see it all finished and not a buncha dirt and weeds. But it's a good weird! A great feeling of a job well done. :D

Hi Julie, I still had all the hormonal symptoms after having the uterus removed, but I didn't get bloating, cramps or diarrhea. I did get those previously when I started my period. I did have some water retention, but not like i used to, and I was mildly *****y! Later on I guess my ovaries worked less and less and my hormones were more and more out of whack and then I never knew when a cycle was happening, if they were happening at all. Now that the ovaries are gone so are the monthly cycles.

Thanks Noodles! I greatly appreciate the information, I am currently taking Yasmin, but may stop it on my own, I am not sure yet? Happy Turkey Day everyone! Julie

jbbm 11-23-2004 09:46 PM

And thank you too, Jennifer for the reply. I hate hormones, sometimes I wonder why some woman just breeze through peroids and other suffer like ****. Are you still doing the sbd? I am trying to add low carb items to my diet. But I admit tonight I pigged out :^:. I have a feeling I might be giving in to food, bad food that is until after the holidays, even though I am going to try my hardest not too. LOL....take care and Happy holidays, Julie

Yasmin...YECK!! :( I hope it works for you, though. It didn't work for me. It just intensified my problems and made things worse than they already were. My poor boobs...Oh man I thought I had milk come in again when I went on Yasmin. I was only on it for one pack. That was too much.

Good Luck...

jbbm 11-24-2004 12:21 PM

Noodles, I may discontinue the Yasmin....I don't know if it has made everything worse, you know the symptoms, haha, I have been on it over a year. I should probally ask doc about it. Also I am going to ask him if he does give in and give me a hyst. do I still have to take bc? Julie

Annie-Rose 11-24-2004 02:59 PM

I'm on dianette, I think its called Diane35 in the US. It's specifically for acne and excess hair but is a bc pill too. I've only been on it for a couple of weeks - so far so good.

Noodles913 11-24-2004 04:16 PM

JbbM: Sometimes they try to make you still take some form of birth control (for the estrogen) after a hysterectomy, but I stopped anyhow. It was messing me up really bad...worse than if no birth control. Reason is because the pill also has progesterins in there and you don't need those because those are to help the uterus shed its lining...and there's no uterus. My doctor is putting me on a low dose estrogen-only medicine (Patch I believe) after I get the ovaries out, but it isn't a birth control pill. If you get everything taken out, (ovaries, tubes, uterus), then ask for estrogen only instead of a BC pill. Hope this helps!

Annie-Rose: I've heard marvelous things about the Diane pill, but they don't sell it here in the US yet I asked my endo about it (she's from Hungary) and she said they are trying to get it approved here, but so far no deal. :(

 On that note....I'm outta here!! I'm going to see my best friends and family for Thanksgiving....I will check in from there (I have a laptop), but probably won't post much. So...everyone please have a safe and happy...

:balloons:THANKSGIVING DAY!!! :balloons:

Julie, I am not on SBD anymore. I started eating the BFL way, but I'm not strictly by the plan. I'm trying to lift weights and get some muscle mass, and hopefully get my metabolism moving again. The muscle makes a big difference when burning calories.

Yep, this week stinks. Too many Thanksgiving dinners. I'm eating as lightly as I can stand!

hello everyone, I am new and am looking forward to meeting new people. I was just diagnosed with PCOS and I have to admit I feel totally lost. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 1/2 years. With no lukc. ALl my tests came back fine. Doc put me on Metformin june of 03. My husband just got tested yesterday for a SA. I have gained 50-60pounds since may 02 when we got married. I couldnt understand it. Well some of it. And then the doc told me I have pcos. I am still kind of emotional over it. But I have been starting to follow a low-glycemic diet which is supposed to help. I have lost 3 pounds this week. I currently wiegh 265. I am 25 (almost 26) and 5 ft 3 in. I am miserable. This is the largest I have ever been. I decided not to tell my family I have PCOS. I just dont know if I can handle that right now. But in the meantime I have no one to turn to for support.

enough of my rambling. I really look forward to meeting people. And people that know what I am going through. I live in Arizona and would also love a local buddy. but please email. I love to meet new peeps.

Brittney

Jennifer 3FC 11-27-2004 12:41 PM

Hi Brittney! I actually tell that I have PCOS anytime that I get the opportunity. It is a little known condition still, and I like to educate and break stereotypes. Is there a reason that you don't want to tell your family? It's nothing to be ashamed of, and it isn't a fatal condition, although it is a big neon warning sign to lose weight or Diabetes is next! I'm just curious. I was actually very relieved to hear that I have it. It answered a lot of questions to problems that I couldn't fix! I was at least somewhat happy to be able to say 'See, I didn't 10,000 calories a day!'

Good luck with the weight loss. It's been said to help quite a few conceive. Are you going to wait until you've lost weight to try and conceive? The weight loss will help you have a healthier pregnancy, especially if you are insulin resistant - which I am assuming you are, since you are on Met. Good luck, and ask us anything you want or need to know.

PS - I can think of a million diseases or syndromes that are worse than this one. Ours can mostly be corrected with proper diet and exercise, so we're lucky! :)
