March 2004 Chat
Ok everybody, SPRING TIME comes this month! Is everybody ready to dig out their spring time clothes? I'm ready, yet I'm not. I would like all of my shorts from last summer just falling off me, but I'm not quite there! They are baggy, but they still technically fit, since they don't fall down. Summer is just around the corner!!
|
Yikes, shorts. Maybe this is the year I should get the spider veins done. And a pumice stone on my heels. These legs haven't gone nekkid since before Halloween-- I'm not ready!
|
Ooh, Pumice Stone! Yeah I need to do that. Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring me something to exfolliate with! Chocolate covered exfolliant?

Just wanted to say hi!!!
Hi! I'm new to this site and this community. I was diagnosed with PCOS in the summer of 2002 but was given very little guidance by my endocrinologist. Recently, I found a wonderful general practitioner who has me on Aldactone. I am also on Diflucan now to clear up a Candida Yeast imbalance which is supposed to be par for the course. I start Atkins tomorrow and am so excited. I go back in two weeks to discuss Metformin and rosiglitazone since I also have been diagnosed with fatty liver. I am so excited to finally have a doctor who understands what I am going through and is willing to work with me!!! I have over 100 pounds to lose but for the first time really think I can do it!!! :)
I would love for people to share what has worked and hasn't with me. I am going back now to read through the forum to find information. I am allergic to exercise so that is my first big challenge to face. :\ Tomorrow is day one!! Wish me luck! *GULP* |

Hello there! Re: spider veins, yuck. And I could even tolerate the way they look, but they sting, too. Especially when I'm driving, for some reason. Oh well, that's middle age for you.
I've always had PCOS, I suppose, but my symptoms are a lot milder than some people who post here. I had a drastic problem with my hair falling out, but Spironolactone and Rogaine have fixed it. I do a lot of exercise, just about every day now, and I have been pretty active all my life. For example, I still played golf at my highest weight, and walked. I really think that history of exercise and movement has helped my symptoms, and it has made weight loss much, much easier. But it hasn't been quick. The first 30 pounds took 2 years and the rest since this January 1. I'm not doing low-carb, I need the carbs for exercise. Also I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, trying to get at least 6 servings a day. I'm a calorie counter, I suppose. Well, that's all I can think of for now. Glad to "meet" you! |

I got spider veins when I was pregnant. They just keep getting worse!! :( Aren't Aldactone and Spironolactone the same? I have face fuzzies, these horrid side burns of dark hair. I am finally getting them lasered off. For each goal I meet weight wise, I get another laser treatment. This will keep me motivated!! :) I have very curly, thick hair so the hair loss has not looked drastic to others but I can tell. I might resort to Rogaine at some point. Congratulations on your weight loss!!!! That is wonderful! It does take time. I have to keep reminding myself I won't lose it overnight. :\ I know I will miss fruits and some vegetables on Atkins induction but once I reach the ongoing weight loss and maintenance parts, I can add them back. Until then I get lovely salads, green veggies, mushrooms and the like as well as lean meats and lots of water!!! :) I will be watching portions and calories as well as carbs. It is so nice to meet you too and thank you for responding! :) |
Hi All!!
Well, we had an ok trip in Laughlin. I could go into detail, but I was a bit ticked off. I got all dressed up for nothing...but...I did get a pic. Everyone says they can tell I lost weight, but I don't think so. *sigh* It seems like the more exercise I do...the hungrier I get!! Bah!! But I am eating healthy. I dont want that weight back. My next goal: Joining the gym. After eyeball surgery and I am all healed, I will make that committment and stick to it. I am doing this for me...and I tell ya, it does help ones self-esteem...it starts a circle to where you want to keep going. Been at it since September 03, so I must be doing something right...of course if I hadn't found 3FC for moral support, I dont know if I would of kept going. So..a big THANKS :thanks: to you girls!!! :cheer: On with the pics!! PS: If you want to see more pics, just go visit my Yahoo photo album. Got past and present pics there. :D http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/noo.../bc/noodles913 |

Noodles: Wow! Skinnier and skinnier. You look great, smaller than I expected from your posts. Love your pictures of family and pets, especially the rats lounging by the "swimming pool!" |

Yeah, they get their baths 2x or more a month. Keeps them smelling like a babys butt for a little while anyhow. I use Johnson & Johnsons Baby Shampoo. No more rattie tears! hehehe :mouse: |
