Just diagnosed.
 

After both a blood test and an ultrasound it turns out I do have PCOS. Although I do have a regular period. I'm really happy about this because now I know and that's all I wanted. I was perscribed metformin. Does it help with weight loss?

Metformin will help regulate your blood sugars and it may or not help with weight loss. It kind of depends on the person.

Because Metformin is going to regulate your blood sugar, you will find that if you were eating carb-heavy meals, you may not be able to handle those as well as before (Gastrically!).

As a consequence, you may end up eating less or different types of food that help you with weight loss.

Good luck, there are different types of PCOS, so having a period is normal too.

Not for me. Metformin for me stops mystery weight GAIN though. Which I am grateful for!
