PCOS and menopause

Does anyone have any info about how PCOS effects menopause? Our hormones are already whacked, so what happens during menopause? Do we even go through menopause? :?:

I just read a bit in my old PCOS book by Thatcher.

It says that Menopause just means stopping menstration and compares our menopause to someone who has had their ovaries removed.
Yes, we won't be dealing with our cycle problems anymore or fertility, but insulin resistance will still be there...
And we will see the same hot flashes, urinary tract problems, sleeplessness, osteoporosis and all that good aging stuff. (some of the menopause issues we are already dealing with, like the facial hair and weight issues) It suggests Hormone replacement therapy for us too.

Not very uplifting reading! LOL

Yup -- still will go through "The Change" -- just in PCOS flavor.
