I got my period the day before my weekly WW weigh-in last week. I bloat like crazy, to the point where my stomach really hurts so I always expect my weight to go up and usually skip that weeks weigh-in because I dont want to see a false number on the scales. For some reason I went anyway, and the scale said a gain of 2.5kg. The old biddy to records the numbers looked at me in shock and I just laughed and said it was ok, it was all hormonal. There is no way I could possibly have consumed enough calories to gain 2.5kg of fat. So this week I am expecting a nice big number since I've shed all that water retention and been perfectly on plan. Woo!

I'm back from my last trip for at least two months!
I am bloated, because eating out always causes this, but the silver lining is that I am back and on track again. I have been eating too high calories, so I need to get back down to 1600 and then I'll try again to get under 1500. My goals this week, starting today is to stick to 1600 healthy calories, with one cheat meal on Friday night (date night with the boyfriend). And cheat meal is not a free for all, it'll be protein heavy and sensible, I just may be up in my calories to 1800/1900 if I eat out with him, not more than that. I am feeling better about September than August, but I am still frustrated the weight is on. I know right now it's totally my fault, but still. I just want to head it back down. I don't want this weight to creep up. It's too hard getting it off. |
Who's here this month?
-I'm here. I'm new to the forums! How are you? -Doing okay, getting used to metformin. What are you working on? -Getting in enough of the proper foods How was last month? -Lousy, no matter what I did I wouldn't lose a pound How's your PCOS management going? -2000mgMetformin XR. I felt very little side effects so I went straight to the 2000mg mark and wow. Since my endocrinologist follow up appointment I'm down 8.4 lbs. It would have taken me over a month or three! to lose that kind of weight before. Absolutely stunned. I have to make sure that I get in enough food otherwise I get dizzy. I'm glad I have very little appetite and I'm sure reducing carbs drastically is helping immensely. When I do eat carbs they are 100% whole wheat. I don't tend to crave them too much though and if anything I'll eat them at breakfast. Metformin has made me feel a million times better already and it's only been a couple days. I will be happy when I feel more energized all day. Oh metformin has also brought my period. Probably the first time I've ovulated since I was 13. haha. |
Who's here this month? My name is Kristina. New to 3FC but not to PCOS! I've been diagnosed since around 2005ish. I have a lot of abdominal weight and the lovely hirsutism. I have two daughters. Ani Rose is 8 and was conceived naturally. After 2 MC we conceived Aerilyn who is now 14 mos on soy. Now that I'm basically done having LOs (unless I can convince the DH otherwise!) I have a lot of weight to lose! I'm noticing my 8 yo is becoming aware of her weight and mine. I'm hoping to become a good role model for her. My DH is away working in Hawaii, so I'm somewhat a single mama til mid December. My energy lvls are lacking so its time for a change!
How are you? Sleepy as usual but ok! What are you working on? Eating healthy with intentional exercise. How was last month? Nothing fabulous! I guess working up the motivation to make the necessary changes in my lifestyle. How is your PCOS management? OK, I saw the endo this month. My HBA1c was in the 5% range without met. I'm going to start met again soon to balance out my hormones and hopefully help with this hirsutism which is noticably getting worse. My DH and I have made a deal that for each 10lbs I lose I get to have a laser or electrolysis tx done. Hopefully, I can schedule one sooner than later! |
Quick check in -- I am hanging in there. Maintaining I hope -- I have not even had the chance to weigh myself. Off to Alzheimer support group now with mom. This eldercare business is wearying.
hugs A. |
3.3kg loss. I knew it!
|
Quick check in -- Endoc appt this morning. I made a gym date with a casual pal from church to hold me accountable. I want to get back to MWF, but at least I know for sure I'll get there Wed because she's expecting me to show!

I'll check in too. I'm just hanging here, doing my thing, trusting in the process.
I'm only weighing in once a week, which is maddening but it's also been good because I can't play games with myself. I have to eat well ALL week and focus on that one Saturday weigh-in day, rather than have the rollercoaster of emotions on a daily basis. Still exercising and eating as well as I Can. |
check in im doing ok still waiting for my appointment to have the cam in my belly button to see whats going on :(
weight managment been up and down i gain a lb lost a lb then lost half lb so last two weeks have been good only 4lbs to go befor ei hit goal :D xxx |
I am recovering from surgery and just getting to the point where I can feel myself getting better daily!!
As I've said, this is my second month on birth control to help me get periods, and I am having break through bleeding daily. I am not a fan. I'm hoping that it is just an issue of my body adjusting to being on BC and that it won't last forever! |
what surgery did you have just sharing?
I passed my resit exams woohoooo |
I had my gallbladder removed. It stopped functioning and was causing a lot of pain and digestive problems. Since I hadn't had surgery before, I had no idea what I was in for... I had horrible pain the first 3 days, but it has been a week now and I'm about 60% better! :)
Congrats on passing your exams, that's awesome!! |
