Ir

So I'm nervous.

I had laporoscopic surgery last week...my doctor thought I had possible endometriosis...luckily I don't...he did a D&C (I had a c-section for my twins and he thought this would help with the pain I was in) I developed a "fatty tumor" in the past few months...which is causing all the pain and pressure. He said as I lose weight...it will shrink and I'll feel better.

I have to go for a 2 hour Glucose test in a few weeks...Diabetes scares me...my father had it...both my grandmothers...he's thinking it's more an Insuline Resistancy. My sugar was a little high when they did my pre-op blood work...but not super duper high.

I know obviously diet and exercise will help. They've always toyed around with me having PCOS...but I did get pregnant...so I don't know. I'm confused and nervous.

Don't be scared -- it CAN be beaten back. My IR's gone dormant/away whatever.

Some PCOS patients have IR and some do not. There's at least 5 types of patients:
  • traditional PCOS -- anovulatory, increased androgens, no insulin resistance
  • endocrine syndrome X -- anovulatory, increased androgens, insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes
  • non-traditional PCOS --anovulatory, normal androgens, obese, insulin resistant or type 2 diabetes
  • non-traditional PCOS -- ovulatory, increased androgens, mild insulin resistance
  • idiopathic hirsutism -- ovulatory, increased androgens, no insulin resistance

You are not alone!

hugs
A.

I would probably say if I'm any of them, I'm the second to last one.

Thank you so much.
