It's Been a while!

Hey everyone! It's been a looooooooong time since I visited the site! SO, right now I am off of everything, no birth control, no metformin, nothing! Mainly because I was being cheap (in college you have to be cheap) and the birth control was giving me migraines. I have been off of birth control for 6 and a half months and for the first four I was having regular periods. However now it has been 2.5 months since my last period and I hate to say it, but I miss it! Mainly because it reassures me that I'm not pregnant. Now, I am asked almost every day by my loving boyfriend whether or not it has shown up. According to the tests I have taken, I'm not pregnant (relief!) but I just wish it would come back. You guys probably think I am crazy.

I am thinking of going back on just to keep us both from going nuts! We certainly can't afford a baby right now, although if I'm not getting my period than I'm 99% sure I'm not ovulating as well. I have tried to reassure him that everything is fine.

I guess it is but we are still freaked out. And to top it off, I gained back all the weight I had previously lost:(

The numbers always seem to hike up fast when you aren't constantly paying attention. But we did just start a new diet about 4 weeks ago that has helped me lose 12 pounds so far! :dizzy::dizzy:

It really does suck sometimes! I just wish my body would operate normally!

But enough of my whining and complaining! How is everyone out there doing?

Hunny, birth control is a whoooooole lot cheaper than raising a baby. You should try out some other birth control to find one that doesn't give you headaches but let me assure you this is not something to go cheap on. Also, if you think you have weight issues now try getting preggo, gaining weight throughout your pregnancy and then trying to loose it while having to give your whole world to an infant, NOT GOOD!!! I hope this helps!!!

Relying on not getting pregnant this cycle because you didn't get a past a period is not a good method.

Use condoms, and maybe chart with something like www.tcoyf.com so you become more aware of your cycle and if/when you ovulate. Trying to Avoid (TTA) charting is almost the same as Trying to Conceive (TTC) charting. The only difference is the timing of sex.

Check your student health center. Mine gave out free condoms to people any time so really there's no reason not to use some kind of birth control. Even if you have to buy, condoms are still cheaper than a pregnancy/kid.

If you decide to go back on BCP, try Planned Parenthood. Mine gave a sliding scale and worked out better than buying from the student health center. Also think about monophasic instead of triphasic. Sometimes tri's bother PCOS patients. "Tri" is usually in the name. Like Orthotricyclen vs Orthocyclen.

GL!

Oh, trust me! We are still using condoms but that doesn't stop me from being worried. But thank you for your comments and support! =)
