Old thread is here:
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/pcos...s-support.html Just thought I'd say "Hi" before I go play wii for a bit. Had a great day with the family and am basking in the glow. Happy May Day! A. :) |
Hey everyone - Astrophe thank u for starting this :) I haven't been on in so long but I'm still around. I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks but I will starting Monday. Oh and one thing I did promise wasnto give up
2 things this month. Diet soda and subway cookies. I don't eat store cookies. Lol but ya I did good yesterday. We went out to eat & I asked for water. 2 of my friends decided to join me. Today is day 2 of no soda.I will keep you all updated on how that goes. Love this month because it's my birthday and the next day my fiancé birthday. (May 21st & May 22nd) Looking forward to sticking to something this month :) Alright off to my dads house. Have a wonderful day everyone. |
Hi ladies!
Just thought I would pop on and say hello! I am currently doing ideal protein and have had great sucess with it but my endocrinologist (who I saw once last month and who diagnosed me with PCOS) is super upset that Im in a state of constant ketosis (apparently its dangerous for someone with Insulin Resitence) and she has referred me to see a dietician. My question is are any of you insulin resistant and what eating plan are you following? Have a wonderful evening ladies |
Holy Cow Ya'All! Just tested my Blood Sugar and it is only 99! (Below 130 is normal) I usually run about 130ish - 140ish. So 99 is Awesome! I almost cried when I saw the number! People who are not diabetic or do not have our Disease do not understand how much that number means to us.
I even got a lunchable that I've had and took out the crackers and gave them to the birds and just ate the meat and cheese. But this one has cookies in it too. and since I took my blood sugar and it was so good I'm not gonna ruin it by eating those things! And boy howdy do I want to eat them but I know what they do to my blood sugar and I've been doing so good that I do not want to even go there. I've been walking 1 mile EVERY DAY and not eating unhealthy carbs. I did get the nausea that I've heard about but it seems to have passed. I think its just finally committing to a healthy lifestyle. ;) Hi Nico! I still drink my Coke Zero. I just try to limit it and after 7 pm its water only. ;) Now wanna welcome Sassy Kimann :welcome: I am a type 2 diabetic and just went to my new RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist) who is also co author of "The Fast Track of Fertility" and is an expert in PCOS. He told me to avoid everything WHITE and to walk 1 mile a day. Well I've only been at it for about 4 days now and already seeing results in my blood sugars. I am not sure on the ketosis but my dr never said anything about it. I looked in his book and didn't mention it specifically. It says to eat healthy carbs with a low glycemic index such as: brown rice, whole grain pasta, sweet potatoes, and dark whole grain breads. Good Luck! Big  |
Welcome Sassy Kimann!!! I don't think Im IR & if I am they haven't told me. After many years of having this crazy thing I'm still trying to figure out what works for me.
Hey Sassy!!! I am not diabetic but my dad has been for as long as I could remember so I do know how important it is to have those numbers low. Keep doing it girly!!!! I just got too addicted to soda that I just need to give it up - 3 days and nothing yet. I'm proud :) I took a class today at the gym. I only did half since I got there late. OMG my legs are killing me!!!! Wednesday we plan to do the entire thing. It was awesome. I think it will be great to do every Monday & Wednesday & do what I want Thursdays and Fridays :) Also got my step mom to start walking with us on Sundays. She is always home but seeing her walk laps with us at the park was so cool. We plan to go again on Sunday. Yay! Alright time for bed. Goodnight ladies :) |
Good Beautiful Morning All! :sunny:
Well I weighed in this morning because I completely forgot about it yesterday and guess what????? I have lost 8 pounds so far! And its only been about a week! Woo-Hoo! :woohoo: Guess this diet + exercise thing really does work if you actually DO IT and stick to it! :D Nico -- Yeah I was addicted to one of the worst sodas imaginable -- Mt. Dew until about 1 1/2 yr ago (wow time flies!) and I gave it up. I switched to Diet, found some that I like and tried to incorporate more water. Now I see your trying to quit Diet Soda. Good Luck GF! I have problems giving up the diet because I do not like Iced Tea or Crystal Lite so the only other option is Water and that gets pretty boring after a while so I just try to limit it. ;) WTG on the class and the walking! I've been doing WATP (Walking Away The Pounds) DVD, 1 mile, EVERYDAY. :) Good Luck Girlies and YOU CAN DO IT!! Because if I can do it, ANYBODY can do it! HA! HA! |
Hello girls!! :) I'm pretty new around here, but wanted to say hi! I am having a trigger shot today to get those eggs out of my darn lazy left ovary, and I will be having an IUI tomorrow morning. I'm praying this works out for us...nothing else has so far.
I am really hating PCOS...It is SO hard to lose weight..I just keep bouncing around now, even though I know I'm eating right. Ugh... :P |

I'm so nervous about my IUI tomorrow. Its driving me nuts. The reason I'm concerned is my left ovary is quite a bit bigger then my right, and I have read that it can make the egg harder to get out. :P I so hope that isn't true....gonna be a long 2 weeks....really long...Sorry about all the infertility stuff! LOL

Good Afternoon Cysters!
Good Afternoon, Cysters!!
http://dl7.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...clwq3r7ycy.gif PinkHoodie -- I hope your IUI goes well today! Don't apologize, I will be going through fertility treatments soon enough! This is the place for EVERYBODY some of us are TTC (Trying To Conceive) and others are not. Its ok! BIG  Ok today I thought to myself, "I'm bored with doing the W.A.T.P (Walking Away The Pounds) DVD and the treadmill so I decided to check out Exercise Tv On demand on our cable and saw 10 Minute Cardio Blast! I thought AH-HA! PERFECT! How hard could 10 measly minutes be??!! HA!!!!!!!!!!! That lady is NUTS!!!!!!!! I felt like I was gonna have heart failure and I didn't even get to 10 minutes!!!!!!! HOLY CANAOLI! LOL! Ok just had to share! lol Also here are couple links that may be helpful to newbies here. They are Basic Forum Abbreviations and Infertility/TTC Ones. Hope that helps! Also I found my little "Intro" I used to do when opening up the monthly threads here and found some links you all might be interested in as well: ****PLEASE NOTE: I also wanted to add a link for a book that I think is very important for every woman to read, not just women experiencing Infertility Problems: Taking Charge of Your Fertility By: Toni Weschler, MPH. It is very very informative about our cycles, how to tell when you are ovulating, etc, etc. It is a great book to have! I know with the economy a lot of us are "tightening" our wallets, but I bought mine at half-priced bookstore for $6. Also there is the library. Just giving out suggestions because it is a good book to read! Also another good book to read: "Getting Pregnant and Staying Pregnant Overcoming Infertility and Managing Your High Risk Pregnancy" By Diana Raab, B.S. R.N. Very good with LOADS of great info!! Remember Our Motto, Cysters: http://dl.glitter-graphics.net/pub/4...zueni7k7iy.jpg Big ! |
Hey girls.... I haven't posted in a while but I sure have been reading! My last bloodwork just came back with all numbers in the normal range!! So..... We are going to start REALLY trying. We .... um... "removed the goalie" back in last July. I had a chemical in January but nothing since. So alas, I feel like I too, might be on the long road to mommyhood. Prayers my way, please!
*****Baby & Sticky dust to all!!****** |
Good Evening Cysters! ;)
http://dl6.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...cr0rni7ql3.gif Well I've been walking/exercising everyday. My legs are SORE. I think I need to alternate to doing the walking/legs. So I plan on working on my upperbody every other day. But I feel so much better with exercising everyday. Right now I am sore, but I know that will change and I will get used to it. I had my interview today with the local grocery store. Looks like I'll be working part time in the floral dept. Which is fine cuz I used to work at a flower shop a long time ago. My old room-mate owned the flower shop and he showed me a few things + I won't be around food! ;) Plus the store is literally only 2 miles away and once we get ahead a bit I plan on buying a bicycle and riding to and from work, which would be 4 miles and coming home it would be uphill! Heather -- WB! Wow that is exciting! Congrats on the normal numbers & your weight loss! That is what I am working on right now, normal numbers and weight loss, so far my blood sugars have been normal and I've lost 8 pounds already and have only been really "Trying" for 1 week! Then its off to ttc. :bb: I am currently taking pills to start my AF as I haven't had one in a while. So I wish you lots of Luck! :goodluck: Big  |
My IUI went well. 30 million sperm post wash. I have been feeling yucky today, and emotional. I don't know why...Go back tomorrow for an ultrasound to see if the eggs released or not. I am thinking they did last night or this morning. Hoping at least. I think we will be on a break for about 3 months or so after this cycle. Need to financially recoup. Have I mentioned that I HATE PCOS? :P
|
Hey Pink.
Big  Darlin. I hope your eggs released and I know what you mean about hating this disease. Its tough to go through what we do over and over again. People who don't have it don't get it. They think "oh just try again" Oh sure lemme just pull a wad of money out my behind and go through all the emotional roller coaster! No problem! Lots of Luck to ya GF! :goodluck: :grouphug: |
