Is there such thing as mild PCOS?

  • I don't have all the symptoms of PCOS, but I do have some so I've been wondering. Here's what I have...should I see a doctor? What if he/she tells me I'm imagining things?

    -Jawline/chin acne. Cystic near cycle.
-hair growing out of my chin. I shave/pluck.
-weight gain. 30 pounds in six years.
    -carb addiction
-discomfort on my side during ovulation. alternates sides.
-blood sugar problems. do better on lower-carb eating.

Should I just keep trying to lose weight (have been able to lose 6 lbs recently. lost 15 last year but gained 10 of it back)? Is this my best option?

Or should I go to a doctor for some kind of diagnosis/treatment?

    Thanks!
  • Hi and Welcome.

There is such a thing as mild PCOS. Some women have severe cases with more symptoms and some have a mild case, which COULD get worse, and most likely will without treating it.

1st, if your doctor thinks your crazy, then switch doctors.

2nd, if you have any concerns with your health, it will not hurt to check anything out. Ignoring it will.

    Best wishes..
