Hi all! I'm really struggling this December and thought that maybe joining in the group will help. I fell off the wagon a bit with some cookies and well quite frankly sugar is my addiction. I'm struggling to climb back on top of things. Today I am completely on track. I've planned out Christmas Eve pretty well so I feel secure there - Christmas Day will be joyous, but a food nightmare.
And worse of all... many of my PCOS symptoms were lessening but with my recent sugar gluttony I am miserable!! So thanks for listening... I look forward to getting to know you all better! |

I know exactly what you mean. All I have to say is since your going to be around food dont eat a LOT. For every portion you would put on your plate, cut it in half. When going around the table at dinner put one item on your plate like you normally would, but them take away half of it. Or just take half. Train yourself to do that and you will see that eventually you are doing that with everything. Also dont drink soda with dinner, drink water. It doesnt sound good I KNOW but just stick with water. Add those Lipton packets to it if you have too. Get creative. You can do it!!! |
I really like the tip of only adding 1/2 to my plate. I'm not certain that I'll stick to just the 1/2 but it's worth a shot! I probably won't count calories that day, it's just too difficult to guestimate exactly how everyone made each dish they brought - but 1/2ing it out and making smart choices should help me to at least tread water for a day.

A friend of mine that used to weigh 200+ pounds and now weighs about 110lbs gave me that advice. Any time you go out to eat, only eat half and take the rest home to go.

Hi All! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! I don't think I will have too many problems staying on track this year. For some reason, my family has decided to have bbq! Not my favorite. So, it will not be hard to over do it.

Holidays mess me up!!! I promised myself I would start my diet again right after xmas dinner. Only to pig out for 4 days following :( ... I'm starting today hopefully I can get thru this day 1st day is the worst!!!

I am happy to say that I stepped on the scale this AM and did not gain any weight over the holiday season! In fact, I have maintained my 15-16 lb weight loss since the summer. This keeps me motivated to lose the rest of the weight. I'm hoping to be in onederland by the end of February.
