With Metformin, the instruction is to take it "with food." How much food? Could something bad happen if you don't eat enough when taking it?

I think it will just upset your stomach if taken without food....that's been my experience. If I forget to take it with dinner (or breakfast) I'll just have a small snack like a light string cheese or a couple bites of yogurt and take the metformin at the same time.

I often take mine without food. ****. I'm lucky I remember it at all half the time.
