Just wanted to say....
I know the thread I posted asking if anyone else with PCOS has "bumpy" looking breasts probably sounded kind of strange, but I am hoping that maybe that it is normal for women with PCOS. I have bumpy breast tissue on the outer sides of either of my breasts, but it's more pronounced on the left. Just recently I have found a slight dent in my left breast just above my aeriola and I am TERRIFIED!! I go for a mammo. with ultrasound this coming monday, and I can't stop worrying! My left arm feels tender to the touch also, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact that it is impossible for me to quit messing with my breast.
Anyway, that is what I am going through right now, and that was the reason for the odd question. |
I had a similar problem - and my bumps and lumps were all very painful. I have fibrosystic breasts... I think it probably goes hand in hand with PCOS. :( I talked to 3 doctors and they couldn't be bothered with a mamogram for me though.
I hope all goes well for you! |
Lizzieness - that is ABSURD !!!!!!!! If they refuse to do it then tell them you found a lump. Not sure what your insurance status is - but if that is an issue there are many health/womens resources who will do it for free. Call your local hospital and they should be able to direct you. Do it and make yourself feel better and get a baseline done !!!! PLEASE !!!!
|
WhAAAT? oh come on, if you have a lump of any nature, it needs to b checked by a mammo....please be an unsatisfied customer, NOT a patient.....
|
They told me I was too young and because I have huge breasts and am young the tissue would be too dense to detect.
They did do an ultrasound though and found nothing. I know I should be a dissatisfied customer - I like how you put that... sometimes you just hope they're right and put it out of your mind.*LOL* |
NDupler - I hope you will update us when you find something out tomorrow... I hope all goes well for you!
|
NDupler: I hope that your appt goes well tomorrow and that it just turns out to be fibrocystic breasts. Whether or not that is related to PCOS, I don't know... hopefully your drs will have some answers for you.
Take care of you! |
NDupler - any word?
|
I am sorry I haven't gotten here yet. I doctor's nurse called me yesterday to let me know everything is normal - and that the breast dimpling is benign. But, they did not do the ultrasound, and I don't understand how or why someone would indentations on their breast for no reason. If they say I'm ok, I guess I am, but I would like to know what is causing this anyway.
By the way, thanx for asking about me :) |
You HAD the mammo done though - right ??????
|
sounds like you got the same mediocre treatment i did. so very disappointing. you would think they would take this more seriously. tsk.
|
Yes. I did have the mammo.
|
well, definately keep an eye on it but glad that things came back okay.
Im sure this has been pretty stressful but I hope that you are starting to get back to normal. Take care of you |
