Yucky Pcos

Hello All. I found out that I have PCOS in march 2006, after all kinds of medical issues and trying a diet drug called adipex.. well what a reaction I had. I have eeb trying to diet since then and well no luck and not trying really hard. I am sure you all know that one. Why do we have to diet right? But I think I am actually getting it.. slowly but surley. Back in 2003 I had lost weight and was down to 160-170 then met my husband, fell in love, and got married. Well everything that I had worked for to lose the weight some how slipped out of my head and here I am again with the weight and heath issues. But on 07/02 we started SBD and we both have been doing great. Not going out to eat every night. I am cooking our meals and making sure we follow it to lose this weight. It is going good so far as you can see from my ticker.

Well my issues with PCOS is this... I had stopped taking my metformin in June due to some sharp stomach pains that I was having and have the runs really bad. Once I stopped it I felt much better.. well I have begun to introduce the metofrim back into my daily routine, I am supposed to take 2 500mg a day, but right now I am taking just one and will wing my saelf back up to 2. I was seeing a nutritionst but that did not seem to work well for me. I did not lose and she was having me eat a lot of fruit. I love fruit, but it has a lot of sugar and I think that was holding me back from losing. So with the SBD I am not eating fruit nor breads and pasta and it seems to be working great. I am staying on Phase one for a longer peiod than most people, but I like phase one and seem be doing good on it.

I was also taking fish oil pills anyone else taking those too?

This most recent issues that I wanted to ask you all is about my period. I am on B/C when I had stopped them right before I got married this is what brought on all the weight gain and issues for me and found out that I had PCOS.. once I started taking them again, things seem to be getting and periods are normal. But this month I started my period 10 days before I should have. I just starting my sugar pills tonight and this week I am suppose to be starting my period.. but I have had one so far now for 10 days.. what is going on.. I have an Ob appt this coming thursday.. to see what the deal is and for my annual. It is not like I am having a normal period right now.. but now this week what is going to happen is it going to be full blown now.. and gosh what a yucky appt it is going to be on Thursay if that is going to be the case.

I was thinking maybe it has something to do with me being on a diet and actually losing weight and exercising.. maybe my body just does not know what to do and is in shock?

What are your thoughts?

Well hope everyone is haveing a good weekend. I have been catching up and reading the post on here.

Hi Tami :)

For the period issues, it could be that you are dieting and that is affecting your cycle. It could also be that you now need a new pill to take. Sometimes women basically build up a resistance to the pill they are on and have to change it up every so often in order to keep the cycles on a regular schedule.

Good luck on your weight loss journey. :)

I had wonky cycles when I started taking Metformin/Glucophage. They were longer and I had major midcycle bleeding. After taking the med for awhile it did go back to normal.

Definately ask your dr about it. They may have you keep track a bit longer to see if it goes away as your met dosage goes up.

Congrats on your weightloss so far.

Hopefully your doctor will have some answers - but don't worry about the "yuckiness" factor. They have seen it all and I doubt it even phases them. I haven't had a period for over 10 years !!!!! PCOS is the best (sarcasm)................
