Dr's visit today
 

I was just diagnosed w/pcos 2 weeks ago and went to the endo today to have my follow up and check blood work she put me on Spironolactone then in 2 weeks I have to have my blood checked and if it's normal I'll start metformin. She said the Spironolactone will help with the androgen problems but also weight I looked around and see nothing mentioning helping weight? Anyone know anything about this. She also gave me a prescription omega 3 Omacor. I'm just worried about everything this is all really new to me. Thanks for any help.

Glad that the dr got you started on some meds. Sorry but I can't help you as I haven't been on spiro before. I know that it is supposed to help with acne and hair growth but that is all I have heard from posters on other boards. Good luck and I hope that the meds help!
