Is this hypocritical
Okay so I haven't gotten into the idea of casting a "dark/black magick" spell (according to Wiccan ideology/witchcraft 101, for the modern era) to actually cast the spells myself but I've paid a couple of different voodoo practioners on etsy for a couple of different types of spells. They are revenge and sex goddess spells. I did also get a chakra clearing spell but I'm wondering is this really hypocritical?

I think it would only be considered hypocritical if it is against your moral code. For example, if you wouldn't cast a dark magick spell because that would be "bad", paying someone else to do the exact same thing for you is no different than doing it yourself and you are still morally culpable.

But if it's simply that you haven't had much practice or training in those areas, and you have no personal moral opposition to such practices, then I don't see how it would be considered hypocritical.

In my case, it's a mixture of both but I'm also going through a period where I question alot of the Wiccan-inspired ideologies I've been raised with.

I guess it depends on your beliefs.

But the way I see it is quite simple. The universe/god/gods/karma/whatever your personal belief is doesn't care about who DOES it. It cares about the intent. And the simple fact of the matter is that yes, the practitioner who casts these spells for you probably will cop a dose of salts in vengeance later on down the track.

But YOU are the one with the intent. YOU are the one who is putting that energy out there. YOU are likely the one that will reap the returns. It's kind of like handing a loaded gun to someone, and saying "See that person? Shoot them for me because I don't want to have pulled the trigger". Yes, someone else shot the person and they'll have to suffer the consequences of their actions. But you're the one that had the intent and went to the effort of finding a person that would do it, so you're going to cop it eventually.

Hypocritical? Probably not the right word in this case. Foolhardy would be more appropriate in the case of a revenge spell. Spirituality 101 (doesn't matter which faith or religion) teaches us that no matter what you do, you have to pay the piper for your intent. If you intend to hurt someone it will come back to you, no matter how you attempt to achieve your goal.
So I guess the take away here is that it's probably not wise to have someone else cast negative spells for you. Using a proxy won't avoid the repercussions. In fact depending on your faith it could make it worse because you're using another person as a tool for negativity.

I've found in life that no matter what I do, I can't change other people. I can change ME though, and that's where the real magic happens :)
