Hello all! Sorry I haven't been on much lately, still having some computer problems........I just plain need a new one, but that's not happening anytime soon:(
Our New Year's was a bust, all of us were ill on top of 3 of my 4 ferrets getting the same thing. I'm beginning to think we had the flu. Now I have birthday parties to plan, hard to believe my baby is going to be 8 already! I am a total glutton for punishment, we are planning a 10 girl slumber party.........wish me luck!
Weight wise---I really could have done better the first week of January, but considering how awful I felt, I did ok. And now with the temps being in the negatives, I haven't really been motivated to swim. So I've been doing as much as I can on the cross-trainer. I really want to lose 20 pounds by my birthday......April. I need to sit down with my journal and write out some specific goals again! That seems to really help me.
:)

15 POUNDS!!!

I haven't been able to register on my digital scale because it only goes up to 299, and today it finally put on a number instead of saying "error". I was SO happy, and with my lipid clinic appointment tomorrow, I'm a very happy witchling. =^_^=

Merry Part and Blessed Be!

Doing well so far this week, food good and went to dance class this evening despite the cold weather.

Tomorrow is bikram yoga night with DH - should be a good workout! :)

What different kind of styles of yoga are there? I hear like Namaste, Bikram. What's the difference?

mauvaisroux 01-17-2007 02:57 PM

I'm not sure about all the different ones as I am new at this but they seem to be different styles of yoga involving different teachings, different poses etc.

The one I do is Bikram which involves going from pose to pose without many breaks (my instructor is like a drill seargant!) and it takes place in a heated room - the theory being that the heat loosens up your muscles and you also sweat out toxins as you go. There is less of the spiritual side of yoga involved in my class. You meditate for about 5 minutes at the end but that's about it.

Anyone who knows more about yoga can jump in with any info if you've got it - :)

This might help a bit:

Merry meet. I am a newby to this forum, and a solitary witch, sa I am very glad to find someone to talk to about both my weight and my beliefs. I am not a vegetarian, but I don't eat a lot of meat. I try to go organic whenever possible. I am hypothyroid, so weight loss is a real challenge! I am looking forward to chatting with all of you. Blessed be. ahnyxx

Hi all

Just catching up. Wickedmommy lamb is delish with mint and rosemary, just don't get it to well done, best about MR. Also garlic is great in it. What time is dinner??? Lamb is acceptable on Atkins LOL...

It is cold and dark here in Iowa tonight. Still the dark of the moon and I have been dealing with all the issues that packed this weight on...I have come to the conclusion that I am a big old emotional eater. I eat so I don't say what I am feeling. If your mouth is full of rocky road, it's hard to talk. So I will try to express those thoughts and feelings rather than "eat" them. And if you saw me you'd see that I have eaten plenty of feelings ;)

Have a great weekend
