MEDIFAST(or any other similiar diet) AND BIRTH CONTROL
Hello chickers....now i am having a BIG ISSUE here~!
i started medifast Jan 28 (4 weeks ago) and i was on my first cycle of birth control the 2nd week. i lost a total of 13lbs the first 2 weeks on medifast and my bc. the placebo pill week i lost as well, but then the next pack of pills i started to GAIN WEIGHT being 100 percent ON PLAN and working out 3x a week for 45 mins and under. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I mean, is this for real? Am I really gaining weight from these BC pills? UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:m ad::m ad:
^ Glad you posted that update I'm not on Medifast or anything similar, but birth control can cause weight gain for the first few months as your hormones stabilize. Totally common! I am glad things leveled out, no matter what the cause was!
When i first began using The Mini Pill for stabilizing my menses and heavy periods it worked wonderfully. I lost 10 Lbs right away on The Mini Pill. But, i think it was because i had just stopped using the other type of pill which had the double hormone effect. So then when I took a break for 1 week and began using the new pill my system had to adapt to the new hormonal changes. I think I lost my appetite coming off the first type of pill but then when The Mini Pill effect kicked in, like 2 months later, I then experienced out of control appetite and water retention and had to work out at the gym even more so than before. I think when I began using The new pill, I did NOT take it the last 7 days of the container and really that threw my hormone balance way off as one is NOT ever supposed to skip any day on this type of 1 hormone pill. Also, if I even am lax in taking it w/i the usual 2 hr window every morning I begin spotting inbetween periods w/in the week which I was late taking it, or had loose stools after taking my Mini Pill w/in an hour of using it. Now the interesting thing is that my TV Dinners are high in Fiber and I also use flax seed and fiber supplements. My mini pill is very sensitive to morning bowel movements. The effect is as if I had skipped a pill for the day. The 2 hormone pill wasn't so sensitive to break-through bleeding for this reason. I wish I didn't have to use anything, pills that is, as my body is sensitive either way I am always bloated in my ab area, and Yasmine was the only hormone which helped with Late Luteal Phase Disorder(PMS), and related symptoms like bloating, crankyness, fatigue, before my periods. Anyhow, I'm unfortunately using this Mini Pill until I stop having my heavy periods. I have no idea when that will be. I sure wish it was sooner than later though???But i haven't had a real period since i began using this Mini Pill about 5 months ago, only a bit of spotting here and there, like i said during the days when my bowel movements are affected by the high fiber . Then my spotting is activated. Thank god for the gym, as the abdominal bloating isn't so bad after a few days working out physically, w/in a week or so after a great gym workout I'm always back to Normal and then it starts all over again.....Bloating, voracious appetite, binging(sometimes), and then high fiber---My best friend, and lastly fatigue, spotting, a Whoosh, and The cycle starts ALL over again....

thank you for the info, again i have had what people refer to as "a whoosh" where i went from 147lbs to 141lbs in a few days. i am happy to see that i will most likely continue to lose because i havent been 141 yet...i was at 143 before i got stalled and the minor gain....when you say the "cycle starts ALL over again...." do you still lose weight but keep going a few step forwards and then back (with a loss)?
Yep, I gain a few at the end of the cycle and then toward the end of that week after exercising a lot, I drop some weight again. But I wish it was a more consistent weight loss....Its frustrating to lose and gain and lose.....Like The Bunny Hop Dance.....---...--..---...

I just started Wonderslim 2 weeks ago and have had great success! Then last week my dr put me on an increased dose of Provera (progesterone) to try and regulate my cycles. I was on cycles of 5mg but he upped me to 10
I'm worried that the hormone will stall my weight loss that I'm working so hard for! So far, so good, though! 2 weeks OP I'm down 11 lbs but I've only been on this cycle of Provera for 3 days... we'll see! Hormones are such a pain!
