The frozen food is not part of the original system. The regular food is all shelf stable.the frozen is called select I think,it is more expensive.

I tried a week of the NutriSystem Select frozen foods. They were mostly okay, but practically indistinguishable from the Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine entrees at your grocery. I was on NutriSystem for quite a while, but didn't feel the need to repeat the Select entrees at the inflated price.

The frozen foods are specific to a certain plan I believe.
