I just found a great website: minimus.biz

They sell individual packages of stuff: like individual salad dressings, jams, peanut butter, etc., etc.!! $20 minimum to get free shipping. I ordered 81 packets of salad dressings for $20.13! It's all brand name stuff. Think of the stuff you see in restuarants, etc. Plus the have indiv. servings of snacks and so forth. Just what we like for portion control.

YES! I am a teacher - are you? I teach in a very unique environment. My classroom is in an adolescent residential rehab center for teens with drug/alcohol addiction. I have 25 kids, the average stay is 60 days, so my kids are coming and going all year long. It is a challeging environment, but I love it! I am the only teacher, so it is like a one room school house. I have grades 7-12 and I teach all subjects.

I remember reading your posts Pradaboy....but I didn't join the discussions until right around when you fell of the face of the earth Welcome back though!! Great to see you again!

Janell, that does sounds challenging, but also very rewarding I'm sure. I'm not a teacher. Holy smokes I would NOT survive as a teacher, I'm sure I'd go to jail for going ballistic on their butts!! he he I crunch numbers, I'm better at that....lol

Thanks for the website Meg...sounds like a good idea to have those individual servings, that way I dont' have huge bottles of stuff that only I eat anyway!

Janell, kudos to you for taking on the challenge of teaching those kids. I really don't think I could do that, if for no other reason than you're getting new students all the time. It must be rewarding, though, in the cases that you get to see their progress over their stay.

Pradaboy, it's nice to meet you! I'm pretty new here and have a busy schedule, but I try to pop in when I can...

Speaking of which, I just got in from my day of labs and need to eat dinner and do some biochemistry homework! Haha. I better get busy with that.

I hope you ladies (and gents!) have a wonderful evening!

Onmywaytome - will look forward to getting to know you better and watching your journey!

GMeg - Great new signature! and good to hear that your mini-vaca. went so well! I am looking forward to a little trip the 19th to return Thursday. Am trying to behave and especially exercise until leaving.....then will be staying at a place with a pool and exercise room. So at least if I cannot eat OP, will be getting in some exercise!

Janell - Wow - what a challenging job you must have! I admire anyone who can do something to make a difference in the world - my hat is truly off to you
Glad to see you are still in the challenge........even tho you are kicking our butts!

Pradaboy!!! am really glad to see you back. I was lurking in early April and joined in May just after you left........and very much remember you! So what's the scoop with ya?

Jyoyo - I thought that you and Kristi had taken off together for parts unknown and exciting. Didya see that Janell is whooping us on the challenge? Today I took back the dvd's I had rented from the library on the Walk off the Pounds. Will probably order a couple on amazon or somewhere though. Until then, am strapping my current book on the treadmill and reading and walking. Am just waiting for one of our dogs to try to hop on too!

so i decided i should finally get back to taking care of me.
i got to where my 3 flight of stairs up to my apartment was becoming dreadful, that's when i knew it was time to get back on track.

Hey, all! Good morning. It's a bright day now that the rain has ended.

My boss is wearing boots today which is helpful because I can hear her stomping around. It warns me when she's coming! Luckily she has something else to micro-manage today so (so far) I'm being left alone!

DH has been out of town at training and this would usually be a time for me to binge, but I'm under control (for the most part! ;p )

Have a great day!

Hi gang!!! I'm still here...just been SUPER DUPER busy lately!! My job stress has ended...my boss is no longer with our firm - which is a huge relief off my shoulders!!! ahhhhh....so now I'm waiting on a new advisor - no idea when that'll happen - in the meantime, I'm cleaning my office like nuts! Got to get rid of all the stuff with his name on it, etc...so I'm staying busy!! I've got to post on the challenge - just cause I've not posted, doesn't mean I'm not doin' it...Janell...don't be wearing that crown yet...

Prada...I remember you...wondered what happened to you - if I remember right, you went on a camping or hiking expedition and never returned so glad to have you back...and congrats on your relationship AND your promotion!!! Getting that stuff in order can certainly put you in the right frame of mind to take care of self too!! Welcome back!!

Janell - your teaching job sounds neat - I'm sure it DOES have it's fair share of challenges though...I too admire you for that feat!!

Kelly - come on back girl...you know we are here rootin' for ya! WS is the EASIEST no-brainer plan I've ever done!!

Welcome to the newbies!!!

Thanks so much! I went to Hot Springs, Ar and totally fell off the wagon. Went on a crazy eating binge! lol

Late nights at the casino there that had a breakfast buffet.

But I'm back and glad to be here!

Hello Friends!

Thanks for all the teaching comments, I love my job, as challenging as it is. There really is nothing like connecting with a kid and knowing that you have made an impact - I know it is cliche' but it does feel good to make a difference

Did I not mention to you all that I am super competitive!!! Give me a contest and I will do whatever it takes to win!! The challenge was just the motivation I needed to get me going. I haven't done as well on the eating part this week, I am letting the stress of my life get to me. I don't know if I will ever kick this emotional eating thing.

Hope you are all having a great day

Hi folks!

I just wanted to pop in and ask if any of you have found any good tricks for doctoring up the double chocolate WS cake mix. So far to me, it largely tastes like a large sponge. I've tried adding some SF torani french vanilla syrup for flavor and sweetness, a little bit of instant coffee powder in the hopes of bringing out the chocolatey flavor, and adding an extra packet of Splenda. I'm not really wanting to add more calories here, but if it's only a few, I'm open to suggestion. Perhaps a teeny bit more cocoa powder?

Good morning all!

Lindsey - I topped mine with some Fat Free Cool Whip...it was more tolerable..I totally agree with you on the taste - it reminded me of chocolate flavored eggs...if it hadn't been for the cool whip I wouldn't have been able to choke it down!! HTH!

Suppose to get rain here today - fingers crossed that it waits till I get my lunchtime walk in!! Happy Thursday!
