It does take about a week (I'd say) between when you place your order and when you receive your food -- you should be able to choose a delivery date a week or two in advance if you want to put your order in now.

Then again, it might be good to give them another week to pull it together over at eDiets!

Good luck!! Please let us know how it goes for you.

ps - I have to ask - what high-fat item did you eat that caused the side effect? If you don't mind sharing!

hi noodlebean, I wrote about this in one of the earlier posts. It was basically just a huge meal at a steakhouse that was even beyond normal gluttony. The type of meal you might eat if you knew it was your last! I had the side effect after that, but normally I don't. For instance I didn't eat healthy yesterday at all but had no problems. Hopefully with the eDiets meals I won't be eating so unhealthy so coupled with the Alli see some serious weight gain.

Hey there! I haven't really posted anything since joining but I thought I could help those of you who are confused about how Alli works. I am a nursing student and so I am kind of additcted to seeing how drugs work in the body (because I have to, too)! Alli/Orlistat is utilized mainly in the GI tract and only a very small amout can be absormed systemically, which means that there are no side effects that besides GI (jitters, increased energy, etc.). What it does is block one of the enzymes in the pancrease (lipase) from breaking down triglicerides (fat!) to be absorbed. Therefore, it 'blocks' fat by not breaking it down and it continues on its path undigested and out the body. Alli only blocks 25% of fat.
It wasn't made to be taken unless you are following a low fat diet. I saw some people on here who are taking it and eating whatever they want. Last time I checked, if you want to lose weight, you need to work at it.
So thats why people gain weight when they stop taking it. They don't eat well to begin with and have the pill do alot of 'dirty work' for them so when they stop they just gain it back because their eating habits aren't great.
I dont know if this helped at all....hopefully it did! :)

That was EXACTLY my concern. Thank you, Pigpen. Helped me! I agree that a drug like this could really help someone who is already working at it, but that--in the hands of someone who thinks "Yay! A pill that fixes it for me so I can eat what I want,"--it could be really bad news.

Be caution right now re ediets

so many issues right now with this program. I was so delighted to find them and within one week they completely fell apart. Between lack of communications to members who were spending literally hundreds of dollars a week, no response to requests for assistance for missed food deliveries, wrong food and out of date food, double and triple billing......... Now would NOT be the time to join.. I would wait a month or two and see if they are still functioning at this same level.
.......... Those of use that were burned are very concerned and have left to seek assistance from another company that is interested in retaining its customers. There are many out there just search.
......the Good thing I have to say about DY is that it introduced me to the wonders of home delivered diet food. I LOVE IT.. :carrot:
I have to say, in the last month I have eaten better than I have in the last 20 years. And surprise !!!!! :D
most of the time not a bit hungry It is amazing what eating 3 meals a day with lots of fiber and veggies will do.
I have now signed up with Pure Food Fresh Start and hope to be successful with this new diet plan.....I'll post results
