Regional diet meal delivery services

Regional diet meal delivery services we've found so far. These do NOT offer national delivery.

I work for NuKitchen in NYC. Hope this post is ok. If anyone wants any info on it feel free to contact me. I work in Client Services so whether you purchase or not doesn't effect me.

Don't they also require you buy a freezer to keep all these meals frozen? Which adds to the cost :(

Anyone know of one in the SE Michigan area?

I've seen a lack of UK support on the new Diet on the Go fad, but I've unearthed some British Alternatives to NS and the other diet delivery programs in the USA.

http://www.bodychef.com/About-Us/lose-weight/

Choose any one of BodyChef's hamper plans (LowGI, Vegetarian, Detox, SuperFood, Premier) plus the caloric intake you desire, and have all of the food you need 5 days a week delivered to your door. If you live inside the M25, you can choose the CityDiet option, which is a 5 day a week plan CHOCK FULL of the freshest foods available and delivered to your door every Monday morning. You order all of your food in Hampers, and you need two hampers a week to fulfill your dietary needs for the 5 day week. A single hamper is anywhere from £43.50 and the weekly diets start at £87.50 per week. The best thing about this service is that all fruit and veg are included, so you are only responsible for Milk and water intake. The CityDiet ranges from £77.50 for a full 5 day menu-set.

The food is delicious and varied, but for a part time student like myself, the cost is not to die for. Here is a sample menu from the Low GI Plan:

Breakfast 2: muesli, low fat yoghurt & fruit
Snack: apple
Lunch 2: wholemeal pitta bread, chicken cucumber & tomato salad
Snack: small portion nuts
Dinner 3: beef casserole with broccoli & cauliflower
Desert 3: summer fruits & low fat yoghurt

DietChef is great for the budgeted household. They charge around £50 (shipping included) for a full 7 day hamper. The choices aren't that widespread, mostly living off soups and granola, but you do get casseroles and other yummy goodies. Also, they allow you to swap your meals you don't enjoy for other varieties.

This is another diet delivery service in the UK, and personally, the choice of food and the prices are appalling. Costing up to £39 per day, all of your dietary needs are delivered fresh, every morning.

I have come across several diet food services that ship. Seattle Sutton for one and Diet-to-Go is another. Are you looking for something that is not frozen?

Sam's Club (for those of us that have them in our area) has a new Fresh Diet program that ships fresh refrigerated food to you. You have to keep it refrigerated, but just heat it up as you eat it. HTH

In the Greater Miami Area: ShapeLovers (fresh not frozen)

I've tried a few weeks of Shapelovers in the Miami area (the website can be found by typing the name, ie. ShapeLovers, and adding dot net), and they've improved even from a couple years ago (when I first tried them).

The menu seems more varied. Several of the dishes and side dishes were actually quite, quite tasty. They used to only have the four course lunch (entree, side, soup, dessert), but now they have a dinner option (entree, side). They still have signature Cuban and Latin style dishes (ropa vieja, fricasse of pork or chicken, Spanish omelette, stuffed plantain, arroz imperial) and seafood Fridays (like so many of us Latino Catholics got used to growing up). But alternates exist for non-seafood consumers on Friday. I like the pasta dishes a lot (especially the tortellini in a creamy sauce and the pesto beef lasagna).

I do not like ground turkey, so I don't like those items and swap them out or skip those days.

I have thrice ordered their special desserts for my family gatherings, and I love that they can make a large size of particular sugar-free, low-fat, low-cal desserts (like the coconut flan, which I love, or the tres leches) for my special occasions if I order at least 3 days in advance.

They deliver around 10 to 10:45 in the am to my area (North Miami Beach/Aventura), so I have the food for lunch and refrigerate anything I order for dinner or extras (I sometimes get extra dessert when they feature a fave, since some only have 50 calories!) and I can spread them out during the week/weekend.

This is a nice option for folks who want to pick and choose their delivery dates, don't need a complete meal plan, don't like to or dont' have time to cook fresh meals, and don't want frozen food/packaged/pre-packaged food.

I've never had problems, and I always call to make my requests (as sometimes I do a la carte if I dn't like the featured entrees).

Hope this helps...

Do these really work?

Don't they use bunch of preservatives/MSG in these diets?:?:

FattyFatFat 09-02-2010 06:53 PM

It probably depends on the foods, but I'd think they were just dried out to where you just add water, etc.

CA, WA, OR delivery service

I am just starting on MyChefByRequest which delivers up and down the west coast. My deliveries start later this week so no feedback on the food yet but it's all prepared fresh with no preservatives, freezers, or anything. They deliver five days a week so most days you will get only that day's food.

If you decide to sign up, tell them Jody Odowick referred you. To be honest... it means that I will get a free day of food for the referral... I am not a sales rep for them or anything.

I am located in Tampa, and the best meal prep delivery service down here/ healthy meal service I have come across is FitEx Meals. Fitexmeals.com Everything prepared is fresh and their menu changes multiple times a week. I have been on it for 6 weeks now and have lost 22 lbs and have only gotten one meal more than once which was the chicken parmigiana (AMAZING)
