Why do I do what I do?

Why do I eat and eat until I am way past stuffed? Why do I think about food all the time? Why can't I just stop doing this? Why do I let food control my life? Why have I allowed myself to gain so much weight as a result of this addiction? Why? Everyone has their own reason, as do I.

I am now making a commitment to myself that I will not be an overeater anymore. I think the only way for me to accomplish this is to be a member of "OA". I am looking forward to this journey ahead. I need all the support I can get.

I am hoping to find a sponosor that I can relate to and is willing to help me through the tough times. If you think that you may be that person, please message me. Thank you so much for listening.

I'm an overeater. I just wanted to mention something to you. I went to www.deepernow.com and bought a weightloss hynosis CD. It works!!!! It just helps you to be more consious of what you're eating. I need to listen to it again, beause I'm starting to fall back in unconcious eating. The first 2 weeks after listening to this, I lost 11lbs! This week has been rough, so tonight I'm putting that CD back in!

I noticed that when I eat high fiber and keep all the food out of the house that I have issues with (even if it's healthyish) I do much better. When I eat high fiber and low sugar I rarely overeat but give me sugary carbs (which I love)and I can do the same thing EAT keep eatting even if im full an uncomfortable even though I KNOW better and don't want to be doing it.

Its not about control its about how the food triggers reponses in your brain They say it can be similar to drug patterns!

A new beginning-
You've taken the first step by admitting that you have a problem and need help. Welcome to OA! I really recommend that you attend a meeting and read step one in the OA Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditons.

I would be happy to help you get started with the program. In time, you may find that you would like to have a sponsor closer to home that you can see face to face at meetings.

If you'd like, you can send me a private message through this forum with your email address. There is a link to private messages at the top of this page under welcome_a new beginning

Way to go new beginning! That's great that you attended an online meeting and even greater that you got something out of it.
