Smile 2nd day of OA, I feel great!
My name is Chan and I'm a Compulsive Overeater.

I attended my first meeting yesterday and my second today. I know I have to take it day by day and I haven't binged in the last two days and I haven't had any strong cravings *AMAZING*. This is big since I have binged everyday, every chance I've had in the last couple months. I've been very depressed and gained at least 20 lbs since the beginning of the year. My depression a direct result of my compulsion.

I am a single mom or a 10 y/o, I have been bulimic for 15 years, I have been a compulsive overeater most of my life. I can't live like this any more. I put it in God's hands and know this are already getting better.

Welcome, Chan. So exciting that you are able to get to OA meetings. My suggestion is to listen to people and find someone who has what you want and ask them if they will sponsor you.

I'm happy to hear about your abstinent days too. Keep on keeping on and a sponsor is a great person to help you keep abstinent and learn how to live life on lifes terms.

Can you tell I'm all for sponsors? That's because I figure my way is what got me to OA and working with a sponsor is what got me into recovery.

Keep coming back and keep posting.

I am also a compulsive overeater. I was bulimic for many years on and off.This year started off so bad,I had to go on meds. It is getting better,and I haven't felt the need to purge in months.

Tracy, I'm so glad you are receiving help. Do you also attend OA? I hope so
it's such a great program no matter what your eating disorder is.

I don't attend OA,but I do think the meetings would be very helpful .I plan on learning moreabout them.

I am now starting my 3rd week of OA. I have binged and purged once but I have been eating great since. I feel wonderful. Thanks for your encouragement. Oh and I have lost 8 pounds in about 2 weeks!!!!! And this time it's been done the right way.
