Tell Us About Your Progress

Hi,

I've been a member of OA for six months and I've lost 25lbs. I absolutely love the program and am getting so much more out of it than just losing weight. I'm learning a plan for living!!

What's your story?

I have been in OA since Jan 08. I cannot give a number of lbs. lost because I am not tracking my progress through weight loss. I am more concerned about my behavior and achieving recovery.

I have completed steps 1-3 and have been binge free for several months. I still struggle with overeating but the hide out, pig out binges are gone!

I heard a nugget of truth the other day: if you concentrate on losing weight, you will lose your recovery...if you concentrate on recovery, you will lose weight.

makes sense to me!

I think that makes a lot of sense Lisa! I too don't really focus on weight loss. I weigh myself basically once every 5 or 6 weeks just as a way to make sure that I'm headed in the right direction. But on a day-to-day basis, I'm very focused on working the steps with my sponsor.

OA really has shown me a new way to live!

Tony
