The 2007 Holiday Relapse Plan

I love the Holidays with all the activity and planning. I am especially happy this year because I will NOT be overeating, gaining wt, hating myself and making another New Years Resolution to "lose wt".
I have started thinking about a Holiday Relapse Plan. I know the first thing on my list is:
1. A written food plan that I will call to or email my Sponsor everyday and carry it with me.
2. My Sponsor's phone number on "speed dial" especially when I am out of my home and work comfort zone
3. Start a Holiday Journal and write down my feelings instead of eating through my feelings.

Anyone else? Please add any suggestions to the:
2007 Holiday Relapse Plan
Thanks,
Bumps

Great Idea!

I wouldn't add much more. It sounds like a great idea.

For me, I want this so badly that I don't even really care that the holidays used to mean eating more than anything else. I think the most important aspect of my approach to the holidays is realizing that there is so much more about this time of year than the food on the table, in the kitchen, on the cofee table, at the parties, etc. etc. I hate to admit this but in the past it was "all about me" and my zeroing in on that last piece of "whatever" that I had seen from the minute I walked into the room, door, etc. I wasn't thinking about other people. I might have been doing a lot of lip service but I don't think I was really focusing on other's and what I could give to them to make their holidays better, special, etc.

This year, I am going to think less of me and more about others. That is my LIFE PLAN!

Bumps - That is a great plan of action! I am adopting that, along with...

Substitue eating with interacting with people, and taking lots of photographs!

Losing weight will NOT be one of my New Years resolutions! :cheer:

Love it.
Christmas depresses me no end so I try and focus on what's going on outside the UK - I do a lot of stuff for my college's branch of Amnesty International, and this Friday we're having a party of making non-religious greeting cards to send to prisoners of conscience and their families. I also like to do shoeboxes for orphans and poor kids - Romania, this year. Honestly this isn't that philanthropic, it just takes my mind off how awful the season can make me feel, and consequently, off binging or undereating. ;)
What's a sponsor?

Hey Jude- (ha)

A sponsor is one of the tools that we use in OA. It's a person who works with us on a one on one level. They help us work the steps, guide our recovery, and share their own experience, strength, and hope with us. We can go to them with questions. They listen to us, give us an outside perspective, and generally cheer us on.
