Default How I am eating not what

In the past couple of days I have noticed that I am not enjoying the way that I am eating. I know we have looked at this before and there are tools to slow down, etc.
But in my mind... not the behavior... I act as if someone is going to take it away, or I won't be able to finish my meal. I hate this behavior and it pops up again and again. I eat fast, don't chew and feel really bloated afterwards.
Part of it is I have not been reading the BB enough or the 12 & 12 or working my workbook.
I feel wiped out, I need some time for me

Hi Bumps,

You've done so well thus far having only started in June. The old food habits are sometimes slow to break.

Maybe trying a surrender meditation before every meal would help? Maybe a phone call or email to someone in OA just before a meal? Just something to remind you to slow down and nourish your body. Put your fork down in between bites.

Doing the actual work does help (BB, 12&12, workbook). I struggle with this too and it's often hard for me to get started. I don't know why because once I do I have a little more understanding of why I eat the way I do and a little more recovery to arm myself with.

You are absolutely right. This feeling has now moved on and I have slowed down, counting to 30 chews per bite. I think I was feeling angry this past week and trying to feed that feeling even if it it was with abstinent meals.
Thanks for your post, as always, much needed and appreciated.

This is a great reminder for me too. I can have my meal in 3 minutes and its because I gult it down.
