one year of abstinence
 

Last night at my meeting I recieved my one year chip. Wow. It was awesome. My sponsor brought a candle for me to blow out, everyone sang happy birthday, and they gave me a card.

I got to share that the central point to me being abstinent for 365 days-- one day at a time is the third step. I couldn't do this by myself. I asked God for the willingness and the ability to be abstinent every single day. I prayed for His will not mine every day. I used my tools, the support of my group and program every single day. I called my sponsor every day, no matter where we were on the planet. Every day she loved me and supported my program.

It's God, not me. My part was being willing to let God in and do His will. Thank you God.
